John Lewis & Partners Premium Cashmere Textured Jumper, Grey

Sourced from the Mongolian region recognised for farming the world's best cashmere, this John Lewis & Partners jumper is made using only the longest fibres for an extra soft and smoother feel.

Constructed in a lightly textured weave, it's finished with contrast ribbing to the hem, cuffs and crew neckline.

The very cold conditions on the high Mongolian plateau are just right for the particular types of goats from which our cashmere fibre is collected. Only a limited amount can be collected from each goat per year – approximately 3-4 ounces, normally in the spring time when the goats are moulting. This means a single garment would require the fibres from several goats, making a cashmere a sought after luxury fibre.

Using the longest, finest cashmere fibres, our specialist cashmere spinners use their extensive expertise to twist a finer, softer, more rounded yarn. Garments made from yarn with long thin fibres pill less, and any pilling that may occur will form longer, thinner bobbles which are easy to remove by hand or with a cashmere comb.
