What’s an induction hob?
Induction hobs heat the pan not the hob using an electrical current. Induction hobs can heat a pan faster than a traditional gas or electric hob, and are more energy efficient. They’re also easier to clean, as you can wipe the hob shortly after using it. Remember, not all ceramic hobs are induction hobs.
An induction hob can only be used with induction compatible pans. You can use induction kettles (which are faster to boil than normal kettles) with induction hobs. The fine degree of control over the power of the hob is also good for tasks like melting chocolate or making a sauce.
The 4-burner Miele KM6381 integrated induction hob features a stylish and minimal design on sleek black glass. Elegant, advanced and precise, the hob has a neat and contemporary look.
Featuring 4 cooking zones including 2 PowerFlex zones, this hob will give you the ultimate flexible cooking experience. PowerFlex zones are particularly versatile, large pasta pans or oven dishes can all be used without a problem. The unsurpassed speed of this model is impressive, with to a booster output of up to 7.4 kW.
Efficient and practical
Cooking with induction is particularly efficient, as no excess heat is lost. This hob allows you to use pans of every shape and size when cooking, giving you flexibility and more freedom with maximum energy efficiency.
This hob has a residual heat indicator which reminds you not to touch a hot cooking zone or to place any heat-sensitive items on it. Every cooking zone is equipped with an overheating protection, this automatically switches off the heating element of the cooking zone, before the ceramic glass or other components can overheat. The safety lock function prevents inadvertent changes to the chosen power levels during cooking. The system lock protects from accidental or unauthorised switching on, by children, for example. This function can be activated on a hob that is switched off.
With this function you can keep dishes warm in an ideal way, independent of the amount. By intelligently monitoring the temperature in the base of the pan, food is kept at serving temperature without burning. So you can concentrate on creating the rest of the menu.
Auto heat up
This Miele automatic setting turns down the heat from its initial power, for fast heating up and then to a lower temperature, for further cooking. This way if you forget to turn down the heat in time, and food will not burn.
When using this function, all cooking zones can be reduced with the single touch of a button. Therefore, the hob can be left unattended for a short period without food overcooking or burning. When you return to the hob, the previously set power levels can be reactivated with another touch of a button.
Ceramic glass is quick and easy to clean, cooking mess is easily removed from the soft surface. With induction hobs it's particularly easy, as the surface remains relatively cool and hardly anything can burn onto it.
