John Lewis Edinburgh is located within the St James Centre which is within 5 minutes' walk of all city centre transport.
From 4 September 2017, a section of Leith Street will be closed to traffic to allow work related to the redevelopment of the area. Traffic management changes will be in place and buses will be diverted. Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained throughout. The changes will be in place for ten months.
John Lewis will remain open throughout the Leith Street works programme. Parking is still available at Q-Park at the OMNI Centre. For more information please consult their website for parking offers visit Q-Park at OMNI Centre website (opens in a new window)
More information from Edinburgh St James, including diversion maps, is available at Edinburgh St James leaflet with maps
Our Customer collection point has moved. Access is now through the sliding doors at the new Leith Street entrance. Parking is limited, so you might find it more convenient to have larger purchases delivered.

As you may have noticed, Edinburgh is going through some major changes. The new St James development began January 2016 and is due for completion in 2020. The current centre is being demolished to make way for a brand new retail, leisure and residential development. For more information, visit Edinburgh St James website (opens in new window), or take a look at the Edinburgh St James Key Facts leaflet.
During this work, we'll stay open throughout and will work hard to minimise the disruption. You'll notice some changes as the work takes place but we'll keep you updated as it happens.
The Edinburgh St James Centre is now closed but John Lewis is open as usual.
Access to John Lewis will continue through the Leith Street entrances. Customers can park in the adjacent Q car park in the Omni Centre.
Over the few months, you'll see the shop changing floor by floor, and some departments will move. Check back here for the latest updates.
Stationery and Gifts are now on Level 0
Tableware is now on the First floor next to Cookshop
Menswear is now on the Second floor
The Place to Eat and Audio & TV, including a brand new department dedicated to Smart Home technology, are now on our newly-refurbished Fifth floor

We're proud of the close links we forge between our Partners and local schools, charities and organisations. And wherever we do business, at home or abroad, we work with communities to make a difference. That's why:

The charities we've supported are:
Since the introduction of the law requiring retailers to charge for single-use carrier bags, our charity, the John Lewis Foundation, has been responsible for distributing the proceeds to UK charities. We’ve aimed to choose charities closely aligned with the principles of the Foundation, supporting activities that promote education and inclusion, and enable employment. We’re sharing the past year’s proceeds of over £155,000 between six charities.
