The Salt-Water Original is first model to come out of Walter Hoy's workshop and is defined by its plaited leather upper. As with all Salt-Water sandals it comes with rust proof buckles, can be worn in the water and put through a cool machine wash.

Salt-Water sandals are an American heritage brand born out of the need for a Father to make his daughter a pair of sandals in the height of the Second World War. Picking up scrap leather from the floor of his military boot factory, Walter Hoy fashioned a simple plaited sandal for Marjorie and a Modern American classic was born. 70 years on and the Hoy family business is still run from their small factory in St Louis Missouri employing four generations of the family with Marjorie at the helm.
