Shoot detailed stills and movie footage, up close and from afar, with the Sony A6600 E-mount APS-C mirrorless camera. The A6600 has been refined with multiple upgrades on its A6500 predecessor, including major advances in autofocus and battery life. Autofocus includes real-time tracking and real time eye AF, in both stills and video. 5-axis image stabilization ensures steady shots when shooting hand-held or in challenging conditions. And with a full suite of wireless connectivity built-in, you can share your favourite images with friends and family.
24.2 megapixels of detail
Boasting a 24.2 megapixel APS-C image sensor that’s optimised for light collection efficiency, the A6600 captures images with super sharp clarity. With a BIONZ X engine processing the image, the sensor achieves a wide sensitivity range of 100-32000 (expanded to ISO 50-102400) with low noise. Shoot movies in 4K, or Full HD at super-smooth 120fps frame rate too.
Real time autofocus
425 focus points cover 84% of the frame for accurate tracking, with autofocus speeds of up to just 0.02sec reaction time. Shoot at up to 11fps with AF/AE. You can initiate tracking in an instant by half-pressing the shutter, and AI-based subject tracking automatically chooses the most appropriate settings. Real-time Eye AF keeps your subject in sharp focus, and even works with animals, for precise wildlife photography.
Equipped with in-body 5-axis image stabilization, you'll be able to shoot steadier images and movies. A high-accuracy gyro sensor holds the camera at a steady level which is equivalent to a 5-steps-faster shutter speed. This will enable you to zoom in on faraway subjects, snap detailed close-ups and capture night scenes all with minimum blur.
Record superb quality movies in 4K resolution with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. Combined with HDR and image stabilisation, you’ll achieve sharp and steady footage with rich, realistic colour and detail.
A high-contrast, high-resolution, high-visibility XGA OLED Tru-Finder™ reproduces darkness and colour in very fine detail. This makes for clear, smooth views of scenes and tracking of subjects.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & NFC
Go anywhere, share anytime. Connect with your smart devices using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or NFC for instant sending of your work to your online channels, and Sony’s PlayMemories Apps are available to download to enhance your creativity.
Tough body with easy handling
With a tough magnesium alloy body and robust lens mount (compatible with Sony E-Mount lenses), the A6600 delivers solid reliability and steady handling when you are out shooting. Its grip has been improved over its predecessor for more comfortable handling and an added customisable button gives you even more versatility. A headphone jack lets you monitor audio while you shoot, and its rear touch screen flips up to a full 180° for high quality selfies and vlogging content. Water and dust is also prevented from entering the camera body thanks to sealing around the buttons and dials, as well as a protective double-layered structure that tightly interlocks panels and components.

- Image Megapixels
- Image Stabilisation
Irons out blur and shake, so your shots are super-sharp and your videos are stable
- Lens Aperture
Measures the lens' light exposure. This affects the depth of field (the distance beween the nearest and furthest objects that can be kept in focus)
- Lens Details
- Lens Mount
The type of camera fitting that interfaces between the camera body and the lens. Not all lenses are compatible with all models of camera, so check before buying
- Sony E
- Lens Size
The distance from the sensor and the optical centre of the lens when focused to infinity. A smaller focal length will generally result in a wider angle of view
Enables extreme close-up shots of small subjects like insects or plants
- Manufacturer Part Number (MPN)
- Maximum ISO Rating
Maximum ISO Rating
Defines the sensor's light sensitivity and therefore performance in low light settings. Greater ISO numbers indicate more light sensitivity, though may lead to more grain or noise in the image

- Vision Features
Unpackaged weight of the product
- Wi-Fi Enabled
- Zoom (digital)
Enlarges video captured by the optical zoom and makes it seem even closer. This involves zooming in on an existing image, so it gives slightly less detailed results than an equivalent optical zoom
- Zoom (optical)
Allows you to zoom the image closer to the subject. Optical zooms feature physically moving lens components, so it maintains the image quality as you zoom in. Digitial zooms essentially crop an existing image, so may lose image quality as they zoom in
