Easy assembly and quality finish The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because when it was first delivered to me, one of the pieces of wood had no holes drilled in it, so I had to call customer services and have them send me a replacement piece, which took a further 5 days... However, I am absolutely in love with the desk. It fits perfectly in my small second bedroom/office, which also has a double sofa bed in it. I can't wait to get the filing cabinet to match! I am a single female with no DIY experience, but I found the instructions pretty straight forward and put this together myself. Thumbs up from me :) 19 April 2013

Good Quality and Sturdy We bought this desk since it was the ideal shape and size for our study. Very impressed with the quality and it was reasonably easy and straightforward to assemble. Although our computer was too big to fit on the shelves (which probably applies to most computers) we found that the computer fits very neatly on the floor in the corner leaving the shelves free and still leaves plenty of space for my feet (and I'm 6ft tall). The only negative point I could make is that there is no provision to join together with other items in the range. Therefore we had to buy some cabinet joining bolts to do this ourselves. 24 March 2013

Not at all the standard you would expect from John Lewis Although I am experienced in putting together self assembly furniture this took me closer to two hours to assemble rather than the 40 minutes claimed on the (very unclear) instructions. Faulty fittings which were impossible to remove or adjust once inserted in place have resulted in large gaps between the side panels and top and the desk is not very stable. The adjustable shelf supports don't fit into the shelf so the shelves slide backwards and forwards.. Oh, and there is a (albeit small) chip in the veneer on one of the outer side panels. Very poor John Lewis! 16 March 2013

Fabulous desk Really happy with purchase. Perfect for home office - plenty of desk and shelf space. Very satisfied with the quality of the product, too. I'll definitely be saving up to buy more office furniture from this range. 08 January 2013
