Creative solutions
Our specially trained Home design advisors will bring a fresh and creative perspective to your interior design project, working closely with you every step of the way to design a scheme that's personal, practical and unique.
We offer two levels of service to meet your specific needs. You can book a free in-store appointment, or opt for a more thorough home consultation, which we'd particularly recommend if you're contemplating changes in several rooms. There's a charge of £200 for the at home service, but that's redeemable against the cost of any made-to-order products for your new scheme.
Appointments for both in-store and at home typically last
90 - 120 minutes, depending on how many rooms you're considering redesigning. You can make an appointment by speaking to a furnishings Partner or by calling
your nearest John Lewis (excludes Croydon, Newbury, Poole and Swindon at Home shops).
How the service works
In-store service
If you're just looking to make some minor changes, or have a good understanding of what you want, then book a free appointment with an advisor in any John Lewis shop. From decision-making to delivery, they'll work with you through the entire process, giving you ideas from our current ranges, and showing you how to co-ordinate colours, furniture and accessories to refresh or restyle your rooom/s.
At-home consultation
For more ambitious projects - perhaps you're thinking of redesigning more than one room - or if you just don't know where to start, then we'd recommend an at-home consultation. This will cost £200, refundable against the cost of made-to-order products you buy for your project.
Step 1
An advisor will visit your home to get a real feel for the space and a thorough understanding of your lifestyle, preferences and tastes. They'll bring swatches, catalogues and selection of books to help you decide on the look you want.
Step 2
This initial visit will be followed up by an in-store appointment where your advisor will show you some of the ideas they've put together for your scheme. This allows you to start visualising how your room will look, and you can take a look at and try out furniture like sofas and dining tables.
Step 3
Once you're happy to proceed with the design, your advisor will help bring the various elements together, such as processing your orders, arranging fitting of items and delivery of others. They'll even make sure that everything has arrived safely and that you're happy with the end result.
