Three eye make-up trends you'll want to wear all summer

Emerald green, electric blue and bright yellow are having their moment in the sun. These catwalk-inspired looks are as flattering as they are easy. Simply pick your favourite shade and jump in.

Dramatic winged liner was popular at Dolce & Gabbana, with a more subtle pop of colour on show at Oscar de la Renta. Our nod to the trend? A vibrant streak of emerald green across the upper lash line.

Prep skin with a hydrating primer, such as Tom Ford Complexion Enhancing Primer, £57. Use an angled brush (try MAC 178 Duo Fibre Angled Face Brush, £38) to blend Nars Laguna Liquid Bronzer, £27, where the sun hits naturally, such as the cheekbones, forehead and the bridge of the nose. For eyes, etch coloured liner along the upper lash line (try Urban Decay Razor Sharp Water-Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliner in Kush, £17), starting at the inner corner and extending into a wing towards your temple. Correct mistakes with a cotton bud dipped in micellar water, then set with translucent powder. To finish, complement the green with an orangey pink, such as MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Koi Coral, £17.50.

The SS18 catwalk was awash with blue, from graphic blocks of bright colour at Marni to romantic smoky eyes at Chanel. Aim for a soft, smudgy effect, with shadow focused on the outer corners of the eyes.

Add a hint of colour to cheeks with Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Praline, £22. Next, apply the icy and bright blues from Dior 5 Couleurs Cool Wave Eyeshadow Palette in Cool Down, £48.50, to eyes – use the lighter shade along the lash line, the brighter one at the outer corners and the darkest one beneath the lower lashes. Diffuse with Bobbi Brown Eye Blender Brush, £26.50. Then apply a nude shade, such as Urban Decay Vice Comfort Matte Lipstick in Unicorn, £16.50.

Inspired by the opaque, colour-washed lids seen at Missoni, this look embraces summer’s sunnier outlook, with a sweep of yellow shadow across the entire eyelid.

Hold a tissue under the bottom lash line to catch any falling powder. Add a moisturising sheen with Bobbi Brown Lip Balm SPF 15, £17.
