These terms and conditions apply to the use of this Website and by accessing this Website and/or placing an order you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, you may not use or access this Website.

Before you place an order, if you have any questions relating to these terms and conditions, please contact our Customer Service team by email, or call us on 03456 049 049 8am - 9pm, 7 days a week.  All calls to Customer Services will be charged at the local rate (BT users only, other network charges may vary), and both inbound and outbound calls may be recorded for quality monitoring and training purposes.

These terms and conditions will apply to all orders for Products which are being delivered within the UK. If your order is for Products which are being delivered outside of the UK , please refer to our International Terms and Conditions.

 

Definitions

  • Conditions – means these terms and conditions and the Special Conditions
  • Product – means a product displayed for sale on the Website
  • Product Description – means that part of the Website where certain terms and conditions in respect of the individual Product are provided
  • Special Conditions – means the terms and conditions in the Product Description
  • Users – means the users of the Website collectively
  • Personal Information – means the details provided by you on registration

You are provided with access to this Website in accordance with these Conditions and any orders placed by you must be placed strictly in accordance with these Conditions.

Registration

You warrant that:

  • The Personal Data which you are required to provide when you register as a customer is true, accurate, current and complete in all respects; and
  • You will notify us immediately of any changes to the Personal Data by updating these details on your online account.

You agree not to impersonate any other person or entity or to use a false name or a name that you are not authorised to use.

Indemnity

You agree fully to indemnify, defend and hold us, and our officers, directors, employees, agents and suppliers, harmless immediately on demand, from and against all claims, liability, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of any breach of the Conditions by you or any other liabilities arising out of your use of this Website, or the use by any other person accessing the Website using your shopping account and/or your Personal Information.

Our rights

We reserve the right to:

  • modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, this Website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or
  • change the Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part thereof) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the Conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the Conditions then you must immediately stop using the Website.

Description of products

Each Product purchased is sold subject to its Product Description which sets out additional Specific Conditions related to that Product including, without limitation, terms and conditions concerning estimated delivery dates and times, warranties, after-sales service and guarantees.

We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of Products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. Although we aim to keep the Website as up to date as possible, the information including Product Descriptions appearing on this Website at a particular time may not always reflect the position exactly at the moment you place an order. We cannot confirm the price of a Product until your order is accepted in accordance with our Order acceptance policy.

Flowers and Hampers

In the event of supply difficulties, we reserve the right to substitute goods or packaging of equal quality and value.

Alcoholic merchandise

johnlewis.com may sell products containing alcohol. A product contains alcohol if it contains more than 0.5% of alcohol by volume (0.5% abv). Vintages, labels and closures may vary. All wines are 75cl and all spirits and liquors 70cl unless otherwise stated.

Under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, it is an offense to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol if you are under the age of 18, In addition, in Scotland, liqueur confectionery cannot be sold to any person under the age of 16.

johnlewis.com is committed to upholding both their legal and social obligations as a retailer of alcohol. To achieve this we have a number of control checks throughout the purchase and physical distribution process (e.g. requesting your date of birth when the order is placed and flagging to you that a product is an age-restricted product).

By placing an order on johnlewis.com for any alcohol, you confirm that you are at least 18years old, or at least 16 years old if you are purchasing liqueur confectionery in Scotland.

In accepting these Conditions you agree to provide johnlewis.com truthful and accurate information and act in accordance with the Licensing Act of 2003.2003 and/or the licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.

DIGITAL MEDIA

Under the Video Recordings Acts of 1984 and 2010, it is an offence to sell an age-restricted DVD or game to a person under the specified age (12, 15 or 18).

By placing an order on johnlewis.com for any age-restricted digital media, you confirm that you are at least the age specified for that digital media. Please see further details of our age-restricted goods and Challenge 25 policies below, under "Ordering, cancelling and returning products".

CHRISTMAS CRACKERS

It is an offence under the Pyrotechnic Articles (Safety) Regulations 2015 to sell Christmas crackers to any person under the age of 12 years old.

By placing an order on johnlewis.com for any Christmas crackers, you confirm that you are at least 12 years old. Please see further details of our age-restricted goods and Challenge 25policies below, under "Ordering, cancelling and returning products".

Ordering, cancelling and returning products

Orders

We will take all reasonable care, in so far as it is in our power to do so, to keep the details of your order and payment secure, but in the absence of negligence on our part we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from the Website. Find out more about our Refund policy which is incorporated into these Conditions.

Contract creation and electronic contracting

The technical steps required to create the contract between you and us are as follows:

  • You place the order for your products on the Website by pressing the confirm order button at the end of the checkout process. You will be guided through the process of placing an order by a series of simple instructions on the Website
  • You'll need JavaScript enabled on your computer to buy products and check out. Please enable JavaScript in your browser, then refresh your browser to continue. Alternatively, please call 03456 049 049 to order by phone
  • We may send you an order acknowledgement email as soon as you place your order, and you will receive an order confirmation email detailing the Products you have ordered. These emails do not constitute acceptance of your order
  • For items being delivered to you (as opposed to Click & collect), when your product is shipped from our warehouse we will send you a despatch confirmation email
  • Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the despatch to you of the Products ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order, or you have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions in Change or cancel an order
  • For most products sent directly from our warehouse, your credit/debit card will be charged when your order is placed.
  • If the product is being delivered direct to you from a supplier, for instance in the case of larger products such as electrical appliances and furniture, you may be charged at any point between confirmation of your order and despatch. The exact timing of this will vary according to supplier and the product you're ordering

Non-acceptance of an order may be a result of one of the following:

  • The product you ordered being unavailable from stock
  • Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment
  • The identification of a pricing or product description error
  • Your not meeting the eligibility to order criteria set out in the main Terms & Conditions
  • If you are placing an order for an item that by law is age-restricted, then by clicking the order confirm button you are also confirming to us that you are of at least the legal age required to purchase the product. By clicking the order confirm button, you further acknowledge and consent to us taking steps to verify your age by reference to publicly-available third-party sources.  We reserve the right not to supply any age-restricted product where we reasonably believe that you are below the relevant minimum age. 
  • All age-restricted goods must be received by a person who is at least 18 years old at the time of delivery or click & collect handover. We require this regardless of the relevant age limit for the age-restricted product. As an example, age-restricted digital media with an age restriction of 15 can only be given over at the point of delivery or Click & collect handover to an individual who is 18 years old or over.
  • We reserve the right to request proof of age identification from you if your order contains age-restricted goods, and we are unsure that you are at least 18 years old at the point of delivery or at the point of Click & collect handover. For the delivery or handover of all age-restricted goods, we operate on a Challenge 25 basis, which means that if we think you look under the age of 25, we will ask you to show us proof of age identification. If you are asked for proof of age identification and are unable to provide us with any, we reserve the right to withhold the delivery or Click & collect the order.
  • We reserve the right to limit the number of a given item that can be bought by an individual customer should we deem it appropriate. We also reserve the right to suspend your account and any associated accounts and contact you if we notice an unusual pattern of returns activity or there is other suspicious activity associated with your account or any associated accounts. In the event that this happens you will receive an email not notify you of this
  • Should we have taken payment prior to non-acceptance of your Order then we will refund you, but please note that it can take up to 5 days for the bank to transfer the funds to you

The contract will be concluded in English.

Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

This legislation offers you the following cancellation rights when you buy online or by phone:

  • You are entitled to cancel your contract if you so wish, provided that you exercise your right no longer than 14 days after the day on which you receive the goods or services.
  • Your right to return or cancel products does not apply to goods that are made to measure or are made to your specification, that have been clearly personalised or which by reason of their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. This doesn't affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty or not as described.
  • If you wish to exercise your right of cancellation, you are obliged to retain possession of the goods and take reasonable care of them.
  • To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel your contract by a clear statement, including details of your name, geographical address, details of the order you wish to cancel and, where available, your phone number and email address.

  • If you decide to cancel, you should return the goods to us at your cost within 14 days of such cancellation and we will reimburse to you (by the method used to pay for the original transaction) the amount in relation to goods to which cancellation rights apply. This includes the cost of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you choose a type of delivery other than our standard and least expensive method of delivery).

     

  • We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. We will make the reimbursement no later than 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied.

Guarantees and accidental damage insurance

We offer guarantees on a number of home and all our electrical products. These guarantees are in addition to your statutory rights.

Between 14 June 2014 - 1 April 2020, accidental damage insurance was available for small appliances, technology and TVs via Added Care. Read more about Added Care including full terms and conditions.

 

Guarantees for large domestic appliances and consumer electronics products

We always honour the manufacturer's guarantee period where offered; these are usually one year unless otherwise stated. Please see individual product pages for details.

In addition to the first year manufacturer's guarantee on all electrical and technology products we provide a second year service guarantee at no extra cost, and it's 5 years on all TVs. We also include a 2-year guarantee on all lighting, except Christmas, solar-powered and nursery lighting.

What does the guarantee cover?

Our guarantees provide full cover against mechanical breakdown through normal use. This means that if your item develops a fault during the guarantee period, we'll arrange for it to be repaired free of charge, including all parts and labour. Your guarantee is transferable with ownership, so if you give or sell the item to someone during the guarantee period, it's still covered.

Large domestic appliances include the following ranges of products: washing machines, tumble dryers, washer dryers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, fridge freezers and cookers (excluding microwaves).

How does it work?

During the guarantee period, if your product develops a fault that needs to be repaired, look for visible signs of the breakdown and consult the fault-finding guide in the manufacturer's handbook, if any.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, please contact your local John Lewis shop and talk to one of our Partners. You'll need to provide us with details of your item, including the model number and date of purchase. You'll find all of this information on our original receipt – this acts as your guarantee, so please make sure you keep it safe.

If we can't repair your item, we'll replace it with an item of equivalent specification (or if you have an electrical lighting product, we may supply spare parts instead). If no equivalent product is available, we'll either offer you the nearest equivalent specification or its selling price value , and we'll always do our best to make sure you're satisfied with the outcome.

What's not included?

There are some specific exclusions from our guarantees, as follows:

  • Repair costs caused by external factors such as computer viruses, faulty software, fire, theft, and weather (including lightning damage)
  • Accidental damage, for example if your item has been dropped. You may find that this type of damage is covered by your household contents insurance policy
  • Image ghosting or screen burn. These can appear on a screen that's left operating for a prolonged period with either a still image or a channel constantly displaying a logo
  • Pixel spots. These are tiny dark or bright spots that may become visible on a screen
  • Digital television picture affected by any of the following: a misaligned or unsuitable aerial, climatic conditions, geographic location, poor quality or low strength broadcast signal
  • Consumables such as batteries, ink cartridges, storage media, rear projection television bulbs, fuses, light bulbs etc
  • Battery-operated toys
  • Nursery, solar-powered and Christmas lighting
  • If the product has been used commercially or for business purposes (with the exception of computers)
  • Data loss
  • Cosmetic damage such as cabinet trim, scratches, dents, corrosion or colour where the function of the product is unaffected
  • Unblocking drainage channels in refrigeration equipment
  • Frozen food loss as a result of the product breaking down
  • Any loss suffered as a result of not being able to use the product, or any loss over and above the purchase price of the original item
  • Servicing, inspecting or cleaning of the product; and failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and/or installation guidelines
  • Deliberate damage or neglect of the product
  • Please note that our guarantees provide services for goods bought and used in the UK, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands

Disposal of electrical products and WEEE regulations

WEEE compliance

John Lewis & Partners is a producer of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and is therefore obligated under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. We are fully compliant with all responsibilities as a registered member of a UK government approved WEEE Compliance Scheme, Comply Direct. Our WEEE producer registration number is WEE/DC0065TW.

The UK WEEE Regulations were first introduced in 2007 with the aim of reducing the amount of EEE ending up in landfill. As per the requirements of the Regulations, we finance the recovery and recycling of WEEE when it reaches the end of its life and ensure our EEE products are marked accordingly with a crossed out wheeled bin symbol and a date mark. We also provide information on reuse and environmentally sound treatment of the products.

my John Lewis membership

  1. These terms and conditions, as well as the Privacy Notice displayed (together "Terms"), govern the my John Lewis scheme ("my John Lewis"). Additional terms and conditions may also apply for optional elements of my John Lewis such as competitions and prize draws. The Terms may be amended at any time by John Lewis, and the current version will be displayed here. Membership of my John Lewis is deemed acceptance of the Terms by any member or proposed member.
  2. To be a member of my John Lewis, you must be resident in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland and aged 18 years or over and have an email address. We may refuse an application for any reason. You may only have one my John Lewis account. We reserve the right to refuse, merge or close additional accounts at any time. You must keep us informed of any changes to your personal or membership details. We will not be responsible for any loss of vouchers or benefits resulting from details being out of date or inaccurate.
  3. As a member you'll receive loyalty communications relating to your membership through a number of channels which can include post and email. These may include exclusive rewards, offers and invitations from us. You can choose to leave my John Lewis at any time by cancelling your membership in the my John Lewis section of My Account at johnlewis.com. This will remove you from any future loyalty communications as we will be unable to deliver rewards and benefits to you. By leaving the scheme, this won’t affect your existing John Lewis marketing preferences, which are separate.
  4. The my John Lewis card is not transferrable, cannot be copied and can only be used by the member who is named and registered for the card. my John Lewis cards and any other items issued by us remain the property of John Lewis and we may, at any time, terminate the my John Lewis membership scheme. my John Lewis cards must be returned to us on request or destroyed when no longer valid for use.
  5. We may at our discretion decline to issue, withdraw or cancel my John Lewis accounts, cards, coupons and vouchers at any time.
  6. We may remove a member from my John Lewis membership at any time where a member appears to have breached the Terms or behaved in an inappropriate, misleading or abusive manner.
  7. We reserve the right to monitor the number of memberships in any household, and the right to cancel any suspected duplicated memberships.
  8. Except where stated below, the my John Lewis card is valid in John Lewis & Partners shops (including the ground and first floor of Waitrose & Partners Food & Home Canary Wharf), and for purchases made via johnlewis.com.  You can use your John Lewis membership card in catering facilities run by John Lewis & Partners, but it will not be accepted in third party restaurants within our shops or Waitrose & Partners foodhalls located within John Lewis & Partners shops. The card will also not be accepted in any non-John Lewis & Partners branded concessions within our shops (such as Kuoni), John Lewis Opticians, John Lewis & Partners Heathrow airport, The Gift List, John Lewis Insurance or Financial Services purchases (including Foreign Exchange, International Payments, Interest Free Credit and ATM transactions), any Waitrose & Partners shops, Waitrose & Partners shops in motorway services or petrol stations, branches of Boots, at Waitrose & Partners Cookery School or on any waitrose.com websites.
  9. my John Lewis is only for personal use by consumers. my John Lewis cards may not be used for any business or commercial purpose. Use of a my John Lewis card does not constitute proof of purchase.
  10. my John Lewis cards, coupons and vouchers remain the responsibility of the member, as do any security details relating to the account. We will not be held responsible for any loss arising from the member failing to ensure their safe-keeping.
  11. my John Lewis cards, coupons and vouchers cannot be transferred, bought, sold or in any way traded. Only one coupon or voucher can be used at any one time, and cannot be combined with any other offer.
  12. All coupons or vouchers are subject to an expiry date, beyond which they cannot be used or reissued. Coupons or vouchers that are lost or mislaid will not be reissued. Coupons or vouchers for a regular hot drink and cake are only redeemable at John Lewis & Partners Place to Eat, Espresso Bar, Mall Café, Café or Coffee Shop. They cannot be redeemed at third party non-John Lewis & Partners branded food outlets within our shops, or at any Waitrose & Partners branches apart from the cafés at Ipswich, Basingstoke and Horsham.
  13. Please see our Privacy Notice  to see what personal data we collect, when we collect it and how we use it as part of the my John Lewis loyalty programme. 
  14. The Terms are governed by English law, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. The promoter of my John Lewis is John Lewis plc of 171 Victoria Street, London SW1E 5NN.

  16. Exclusions include: Apple products, made to measure orders, interest free credit purchases, gift cards (including third party), delivery charges, carrier bags, John Lewis & Partners Foodhalls, John Lewis & Partners cafes and restaurants, Waitrose/Little Waitrose & Partners, alcohol-related products, restaurant concessions, Protect Plus services, installations and repairs, opticians, Kuoni and Bureau de change.

Kitchen Drawer

  1. The Kitchen Drawer facility offered to my John Lewis members via the johnlewis.com website provides access to receipts and guarantees relating to purchases made either online with a registered my John Lewis account or in our shops where a my John Lewis card is scanned at the time of purchase (“Kitchen Drawer”), which will be displayed for purchases made after the date that the facility is launched.
  2. Whilst we will use our reasonable endeavours to ensure the functionality of Kitchen Drawer, we cannot guarantee the availability or reliability of Kitchen Drawer. We reserve the right to withdraw this facility in our discretion, and will not be liable for any losses suffered as a result of Kitchen Drawer being unavailable, non-functioning or withdrawn, or your reliance on the same. You are advised to retain copies of receipts, guarantees and transaction records provided at the time of purchase.

Gift cards, e-gift cards, gift vouchers and promotional discounts

  1. John Lewis Partnership gift cards and e-gift cards 
  2. You can redeem the John Lewis Partnership gift card or e-gift card in John Lewis & Partners or Waitrose & Partners UK and Channel Island shops. You can also use it to purchase food and drink in our catering units (excludes third-party outlets in John Lewis & Partners shops), and for goods over the telephone or online at johnlewis.com or waitrose.com as part or full payment.
  3. The following exclusions apply to use of our gift card and e-gift card: John Lewis & Partners Gift List, third-party restaurants and cafes in John Lewis & Partners shops, John Lewis & Partners Home Solutions, magazine subscriptions, photo printing or software downloads on johnlewis.com, all John Lewis & Partners Optician shops, Waitrose & Partners Cookery School, Waitrose & Partners  Leckford Farm Shop, Cafe and Nursery, Waitrose & Partners Rapid, waitroseflorist.com, waitrosecellar.com; waitrosegarden.com; waitrosepet.com;  tobacco and tobacco products, postage stamps, scratch cards, lottery tickets, infant milk formula 0-6 months, prescription products, mobile top up, gift cards, e-gift cards, pay cards, car park charges, all petrol stations, Welcome Break shops, UK and Channel Islands only. Other exclusions may apply.  
  4. You cannot use a gift card or e-gift card  to discharge indebtedness in respect of an account card or credit card issued by John Lewis plc, Waitrose Limited or John Lewis Financial Services Limited, nor can you use it for the purchase either directly or indirectly of any financial product or service, including John Lewis Partnership gift cards and e-gift cards.
  5. Please protect your card and treat it as cash; we cannot replace lost, stolen or damaged cards
  6. The gift card will expire 24 months from purchase or last use. Buying a product or making a balance enquiry refreshes the 24-month expiry period. We will not refund any balance remaining and we will invalidate the card.
  7. Gift cards can be purchased in our shops with a minimum value of £1 (£10 online). Gift cards and e-gift cards have a maximum value of £500.
  8. Gift cards and e-gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash. We do not give change or refunds on gift cards or e-gift cards.
  9. If you are using a gift card or e-gift card online and the total order value is less than the value of the card, any balance will remain on the card and may be applied to future purchases, provided that the card has not expired.
  10. Where goods you have purchased with a gift card or e-gift card in our shops are subsequently exchanged for goods of a lower price or returned, monies owing will be refunded to a gift card.
  11. If you return an item bought online using a gift card or e-gift card, usually we’ll refund the amount to an e-gift card. You can also return the item in store. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  12. If you place an order at waitrose.com using a gift card or e-gift card and subsequently cancel the order before delivery, monies owing will be refunded to your gift card or e-gift card. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  13. We reserve the right to refuse to accept a gift card or e-gift card which we deem to be tampered with, duplicated or which otherwise is suspected to be affected by fraud.
  14. We reserve the right to amend the gift card and e-gift card terms and conditions from time to time, where we consider it reasonable and necessary to do so

John Lewis Partnership gift vouchers

  1. You can exchange John Lewis Partnership gift vouchers for goods in all our shops, and use them to purchase goods online or over the telephone at johnlewis.com and waitrose.com.
  2. You can redeem the John Lewis Partnership gift vouchers in John Lewis & Partners or Waitrose & Partners shops. You can also use it to purchase food and drink in our catering units (excludes third-party outlets in John Lewis & Partners and Waitrose & Partners shops), and for goods over the telephone or online at johnlewis.com or waitrose.com as part or full payment.
  3.   4. You cannot exchange gift vouchers for cash.
  5. If the total amount of your online order is less than the value of your gift voucher, then any leftover credit will be lost and cannot be redeemed against future orders.
  6. If the goods purchased in Waitrose & Partners and John Lewis & Partners shops total less than the value of the gift voucher, the change will be put onto a gift card.
  7. You cannot use gift vouchers to discharge indebtedness on any account or credit card issued by John Lewis plc, Waitrose Ltd, or John Lewis Financial Services Ltd, nor use them for the purchase either directly or indirectly of any financial product or service, including John Lewis gift vouchers.
  8. When you redeem gift vouchers online or over the telephone for products available via johnlewis.com, you will be required to give the serial number of the voucher, and the online security code which is revealed by scratching off the holographic panel.
  9. Once you have scratched off the panel, the gift voucher cannot be redeemed in any of our shops. If the security code has already been used when shopping online or over the telephone at johnlewis.com, the voucher will be void.   10. Gift vouchers are void if the perforated tear-off area has been removed.
  11. If you return an item bought online using a gift voucher, usually we’ll refund the amount to an e-gift card. You can also return the item in store. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  12. Coupons, discounts, and promotional discount codes offered by johnlewis.com are valid only for use as part of a purchase made via johnlewis.com unless otherwise stated. Such promotional discounts are not valid for use as part of a purchase in John Lewis & Partners shops, or for telephone orders.
  13. We reserve the right to refuse to accept a gift voucher which we deem to be tampered with, duplicated or which otherwise is suspected to be affected by fraud.

Entries for our competitions must be submitted by using your My John Lewis account- registered email address to log in to our website or dedicated app and selecting to 'enter' the competition in the part of your account section headed 'Rewards and Treats'. You must then follow any relevant instructions in respect of the competition as directed in the further information in the app or website and/or in accordance with the information you received by separate email. Please note that only one entry per person is permitted.
6. Entries received after the stated closing date, stated on the voucher, will not be accepted.
7. We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault or that are incomplete, lost, delayed or misdirected for any other reason.
8. A winner will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process as soon as reasonably practicable after the competition closing date.
9. The winner will receive details of the prize(s). These will correspond to the prize(s), selected as part of the competition insofar as is possible. 1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 The terms and conditions on this page, together with our Privacy Policy, apply to your participation in the my John Lewis Review Programme.

1.2 The promoter of this activity is John Lewis plc (“we”, “us”, “our” or “Promoter” as applicable). You can find our company and contact details at the end of these Terms.  

1.3 Please read these Terms carefully as by entering the Programme, you will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by them.

1.4 We recommend that you print a copy of these Terms for future reference. You can contact us in relation to the Programme or request a copy of these Terms by writing to us using the contact details at the end of these Terms.

1.5 Please note that if your entry to this Programme is successful and you are selected to receive products for evaluation and review, you will be required to carry out certain activities and comply with certain requirements and obligations set out below under paragraph 5, Product Reviewer Requirements. We will ask you to confirm that you are able to fulfil these requirements and obligations before dispatching any products to you. If it becomes apparent that you are unable to comply with them–whether before or after you receive any products from us-we reserve the right to disqualify you from the Programme and require you to return the products to us in accordance with these Terms.

2. ELIGIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION

2.1 The Programme will start at the time of receiving an email from us. It will end 11.59pm on the 3rd day you received your invitation email. Any entries made outside this Period will not be eligible for entry. 

2.2 To be eligible to participate in the Programme you must:

2.2.1 be aged 21 or over (we will not accept entries from you if you are under the age of 21 even if you provide parental consent);
2.2.2 be resident in the United Kingdom;
2.2.4 be available to fulfil all the requirements set out in paragraph 5, Product Reviewer Requirements below
2.2.4.2 accept delivery of the products within 7 days of us (or our supplier) sending the product to you
2.2.4.3 write and submit reviews of the products you receive 

2.3 Employees of the following (and members of their families or households) are not eligible to enter the Programme:

2.3.1 any company or organisation involved in or connected to the Programme;
2.3.2 any advertising agency or digital media or web services provider connected with the Programme;
2.3.3 any affiliate or group company of the companies mentioned in paragraph 9;


2.4 By entering the Programme, you promise that all information submitted by you is true, accurate, current and complete. We reserve the right to verify your eligibility to enter the Programme, during and/or after the Promotion Period.

2.5 We reserve the right to disqualify you and select an alternative Product Reviewer if we are aware or have reasonable grounds to believe that you were ineligible to enter the Programme at the time of entry.

3.  PRODUCTS 

3.1 We shall provide the Products to you, subject to availability.

3.2 All Products are subject to the manufacturer’s standard guarantee in accordance with paragraph 6.

3.3 We (or our suppliers) shall be responsible for the cost of delivery of the Products to your home

3.4 Products are non-transferable and non-negotiable and cannot be returned to John Lewis stores for a refund, exchanged or amended and have no cash alternative. We (John Lewis and its suppliers) reserve the right to substitute products of equal or greater value and reasonable equivalence if the Products are not available or in the event of circumstances outside of our reasonable control. Except as stated above in this paragraph 3.4, no other products shall be provided by the Promoter for review.

 

4.  DELIVERY

4.1 We (or our suppliers) will contact each my John Lewis Review Panel Reviewer to agree the date of delivery for the Products to their home and confirm the agreed date in writing. If we are unable to meet the delivery date, we will contact you with a revised delivery date. 

4. 2 We will deliver Products to the home address you provided to us. We will only deliver Products to your main residential address. Delivery will be completed when you have taken physical possession of the Products.

4.3 If no one is available at your address to take delivery, we will leave you a note that the Products have been returned to our premises, in which case, please contact us.

4.4 The Products will be your responsibility from the completion of delivery. 

 

5.  PRODUCT REVIEWER REQUIREMENTS

5.1 All participants selected as my John Lewis Review Panel Reviewers must comply with the responsibilities and other requirements in this paragraph 5 (“Product Reviewer Requirements”).  5.2 If you fulfil your responsibilities and other requirements under this paragraph 5, you shall be entitled to keep the Products received in connection with the Programme. 5.3 All Products remain the property of the Promoter until they have been delivered to you.5.4 If you are selected as a my John Lewis Review Panel Reviewer, you must:

5.4.1 be an existing member of my JL 
5.4.2 accept delivery of all Products at the provided address to us (or our supplier);
5.4.3 depending on the Product, you will need to ensure that your property is accessible by a 7.5 tonne delivery vehicle (similar in size to a standard refuse truck);
5.4.4 carefully read all user instructions and other documentation provided with your Products and operate those products solely in accordance with that documentation;
5.4.5 operate all received products for your domestic and private use only and between the date of installation and submission date of your reviews, make reasonably frequent use of a sufficient number of the features and functionalities of the products for the purposes of writing your reviews;
5.4.6 write 1 review for each of the received products within 1 week of receiving an email containing submission instructions, in each case, in accordance with our Review Submission Policy;
5.4.7 notify us as soon as you become aware that you are no longer able to comply with the my John Lewis Review Panel Reviewer Requirements; and 
5.4.8 reply promptly and in full to any correspondence or communications sent to you by us relating to your selection a my John Lewis Review Panel Reviewer and/or your obligations under these Terms.

5.5 Review Submission Policy

5.5.1 All reviews submitted by my JL Review Panel Reviewers as required must comply with the requirements in this paragraph
5.5.1 (“Review Submission Policy”).  Each review submitted must be: 
5.5.1.1 written in the English language and be between 150-300 words in length; 
5.5.1.2 an impartial and honest review of the relevant Product; 
5.5.1.3 the original work of Reviewer, must be personally written by them and shall not contain any material owned by a third party or any personal information relating to the my John Lewis Review Panel Reviewer or any other person;
5.5.1.4 submitted online via the web form accessible via an email sent by us or our authorised third party supplier to the email address provided by you;
5.5.1.5 complete and include the rating 
5.5.1.6 compliant with these Terms including our House Rules and all applicable laws and regulations. In particular, the review must begin with a clear statement that all the Products were obtained without charge by the Reviewer who has written there view inconnection with his/her participation in the Programme.

5.6 You may, but are not obliged to, share experiences of using the Products by posting to social media accounts operated by you.  If you do so,you must not use hashtag topics in your posts that are misleading or irrelevant or that breach our House Rules.

 

6.  MANUFACTURER GUARANTEE 

6.1  All Products come with a standard manufacturer's guarantee.  For details of the applicable terms and conditions, please refer to the manufacturer's guarantee documentation provided with the Products. 

6.2 This manufacturer's guarantee is in addition to your legal rights in relation to the Products that are faulty or not as described.  Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

 

7.  OUR WARRANTY FOR THE PRODUCTS

7.1 We (John Lewis and its suppliers) warrant that the Products will conform to their respective descriptions and will be free of defect for 12 months from the date of delivery.

7.2 In the unlikely event that you receive a defective or mis-described product or a fault develops with a Product within 12 months of delivery, you should first arrange for the collection of the Product directly with the supplier, using the information received at the time of the delivery. Please email us at ratings.and.reviews@johnlewis.co.uk to report and arrange a product return, if you do not hear back from the supplier. 

7.3 The warranty in paragraph 7.1 does not apply to any defect in the Products arising from:

7.3.1 fair wear and tear;
7.3.2 wilful damage, abnormal storage or working conditions, accident, negligence by you or by any third party;
7.3.3 if you fail to install, operate or use the Products in accordance with the applicable instructions;
7.3.4 any alteration or repair by you or by a third party who is not one of our (and our suppliers) authorised repairers.

7.4 The warranty in paragraph 7.1 is in addition to your legal rights in relation to the Products that are faulty or not as described.  Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

 

8. OWNERSHIP AND USE OF ENTRIES, REVIEWS AND OTHER MATERIALS YOU SUBMIT TO US

8.1 All copyright and other rights, webform data and other materials you submit to us in connection with this Programme (“Submitted Materials”) are the property of the Promoter and you hereby transfer to us all such rights in all media for the whole term of protection (including any extensions or renewals to that term). 
Accordingly, you hereby irrevocably and unconditionally waive any moral rights or similar rights you have in your entry. Please see also paragraph 10.1 regarding our use of your name, image and likeness (including as may be comprised in your Submitted Materials) in connection with our publicity and other promotional activities.

8.2 The reviews you submit will be processed on our behalf by our online Ratings & Reviews providers. and may appear on online services owned or operated by the Promoter and/or one or more third party retailer e-stores and online platforms, together with related information submitted by you with your review e.g. your username and star ratings.

8.3 We do not guarantee to use or otherwise make available any Submitted Materials. We may also reject, edit, remove or disable access to such material for legal (e.g. material that infringes the copyright or other intellectual property or privacy rights of others, are defamatory) editorial, business or other reasons.

8.4 Your additional feedback and suggestions about the Programme and the Products which is not contained in your reviews are always gratefully received by us however, you understand that we may use these without any obligation to compensate you for them and you are, of course, under no obligation to us to provide them.

 

9.  OUR LIABILITY

9.1 If we (or our supplier) fail to comply with our obligations to you under these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable.  Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of our breach or if they were contemplated by you and us at the time you accept these Terms by submitting your entry to the Programme.

9.2 We only provide the Products for domestic and private use. You agree not to use the Products for any commercial, business or re-sale purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

9.3 We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability under or in connection with these Terms or the Programme for:

9.3.1 death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
9.3.2 fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
9.3.3 any breach of the terms implied by section 10 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (title and quiet possession); 
9.3.4 any breach of the terms implied by section 11 to 13 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (description, satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and samples); 
9.3.5 defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987;
9.3.6 any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

9.4 We are not responsible for any interruption or disruption to or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, electronic devices, systems, servers, providers, websites or computer equipment or software, failure of any email or entry to be received due to technical failures or traffic congestion on the internet, on telephone lines or at any website, or any combination of these, including any injury or damage to your or any other person’s device related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Programme.

9.5 We do not accept any responsibility for any material in your entries that is defamatory, which infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party or that is otherwise unlawful.  

 

10.  PUBLICITY AND YOUR PERSONAL DATA

10.1 We reserve the right to use and feature your Username, for publicity purposes and/or in connection with any of our advertising, promotional or marketing activities as stated in our Ratings and Reviews Terms and Conditions.

10.2 John Lewis knows that you care how information about you is used and shared and we appreciate your trust in us to do that carefully and sensibly.
When you enter this Programme, we will ask you to input and will collect Personal Information from you such as your name, e-mail address, time working in the Partnership, membership number and product selections. All the information that we collect will be subject to our Privacy Policy which governs our collection, use of information and purpose for which we use that data. 11.   OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS 

11.1 Our decision is final and no correspondence on any matter concerning the Programme will be entered into.

11.2 If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable as a matter of law, all other parts of these Terms will not be affected and shall remain in force.  For the avoidance of doubt, should these Terms or any part of them be deemed void or voidable, this shall not affect the validity of any transfer of rights provided under these Terms.

11.3 We intend to rely on these written Terms and any document expressly referred to in them in relation to the subject matter of any contract between us.  We and you will be legally bound by these Terms.

11.4 In these Terms, words that appear after the expression ‘include’, ‘including’, ‘other’, ‘for example’, ‘such as’ or ‘in particular’ (or any similar expression) will not limit the meaning of the words appearing before such expression.  

11.5 You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under these Terms.

11.6 If you breach these Terms and we choose to ignore your breach, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies at a later date or in any other situation where you breach the Terms again.

11.7 These Terms do not create any right enforceable by any person who is not a party to them.

 

12.  CHANGES TO THE PROGRAMME OR THESE TERMS

12.1 We may modify, suspend or terminate the Programme, extend its closing date or time or make any other changes to the Programme or Terms only in the event of circumstances arising that are outside of our reasonable control.

12.2 Where reasonably possible, we will notify you of such changes in advance or at the time we make such changes by posting amended Terms on this page

 

13. EVENTS OR CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR REASONABLE CONTROL 

13.1 If we are prevented or delayed from complying with our obligations under these Terms by anything you (or anyone acting on your behalf) does or fails to do or due to events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including fire, flood and other acts of God, strikes, trade disputes, lock outs, restrictions of imports or exports, riot, accident, disruption to energy supplies, civil commotion, acts of terrorism or war) our inability or delay in performing our obligations will not be deemed to be in breach of these Terms.

 

14. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

14.1 The Programme and these Terms are governed by English law and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. 

14.2 We make no representation that materials relating to the Programme are appropriate or available for use at other locations. Access to those materials from territories where their contents are illegal is strictly prohibited. If you access the Programme from outside of the United Kingdom, you are responsible for compliance with all local laws.

WHAT IS THE MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PROGRAMME?

The My John Lewis Review Programme allows selected My John Lewis members to try and review various products in order to assist other My John Lewis members in finding the best products for them. Customers are invited to join the My John Lewis Review Programme based on their shopping preferences. My John Lewis Review members may be invited to try products that are not yet available on the market - this is where their reviews are the most important. We do not modify or edit reviews as we believe in offering completely honest feedback. They will, however, like all reviews, be subject to our standard moderation guidelines. HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

In order to select the people best suited to the programme, we invite My John Lewis members to join based on their shopping histories and participation in our various events and experiences. If you do not want to participate simply email myjlreviewpanel@johnlewis.co.uk and you will be removed.

 

I HAVE REGISTERED TO THE MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PANEL, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

After registering to the My John Lewis Review Panel, you'll start receiving invitations from our team to inform you when new products are available for a trial. We ask that you only accept invitations for trials you are able to complete within 2 weeks of receiving the initial invitation email. If you’re able to accept the invitation, please make a product request and we will send you your product for review. If you’re unable to try the product within this timeframe, please wait for the next available invitation.

 

WHY HAVEN'T I RECEIVED ANY EMAILS SINCE REGISTERING?

We invite you to participate in specific trials based on the preferences you've shared with us, but also on a random basis. We, therefore, cannot guarantee that you'll be invited to trial every product that becomes available. This means occasionally there may be a gap of weeks, possibly months, before you hear from us.  Please be aware that if we've confirmed your registration and you've verified your email address, you're an active member of the Review Panel, and we'll be in touch as soon as suitable products are available for you to review.

 

HOW OFTEN THE PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE TO TRIAL AND REVIEW?

John Lewis runs campaigns regularly and products are available to trial every month.

The number of products in each of the campaigns is limited and John Lewis cannot guarantee all customers who received an email invitation to review new products, will receive a product. Once products are requested, they will show in your dashboard.

 

I HAVE RECEIVED AN INVITATION TO TRIAL AND REVIEW A LARGE ITEM, FOR INSTANCE, A FRIDGE. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REQUEST THIS KIND OF PRODUCT?

When requesting a large product, for instance, a large kitchen appliance, you will need to make sure you have sufficient space in your property and suitable electrical, gas or plumbing connections. John Lewis and suppliers are not able to provide any alterations to your existing furniture or installations at the time of delivering the product. If at the time of the delivery, John Lewis or our trusted suppliers inspect the connection and define it as unsafe, they reserve the right to reject the trial and they won't be able to re-deliver the product.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM UNABLE TO REVIEW PRODUCTS? 

As the programme relies on receiving reviews from our members, it’s important that all members participate in order to secure their place on the panel. Your honest feedback not only helps other customers but also helps inform our suppliers and contribute to product improvements. If you don't provide us with reviews you will be removed from the programme.

If you do not want to participate simply email us at myjlreviewpanel@johnlewis.co.uk and we can remove you.

 

HOW SHOULD I WRITE MY REVIEW AND WHAT SHOULD I BE REVIEWING?

Please give your honest, unbiased opinion of the product(s) you have tried. Readers also love the practical information - for example, the product’s dimensions, how to use (with any handy tips you can add), and whether it's compatible with other products. If you receive beauty products, don't forget to include some insights into your personal beauty regime. With products that come as a set, such as a shampoo and conditioner, please review each product separately.

Please keep your reviews between 200 and 300 words or approximately 2,000 characters.

 

WHAT SHOULD I NOT INCLUDE IN MY REVIEWS?

There's no need to review standards of packaging, delivery or service as you'll receive your products directly from our suppliers and John Lewis. However, if for any reason, you would like to give feedback regarding your experience with one of our suppliers, simply email us at myjlreviewpanel@johnlewis.co.uk.

Please do not mention the price of the product, as you have received it for free (this will be communicated via a badge next to your review). If you feel that a product is, or is not, worth its price, we suggest you write in terms of 'value for money', without directly mentioning the price.

 

WHAT PICTURES SHOULD I SUBMIT?

When submitting a picture, please make sure these are of reasonable quality and they focus on the product. Your pictures are key in helping others when they are shopping so we suggest making them as professional and exciting as possible. If approved, your picture could be featured in one of our marketing campaigns and will appear on the John Lewis website.

 

HOW DO I SUBMIT A PICTURE?

Once you complete your review submissions form, you will be provided with the option to submit a picture. Simply upload your image as instructed to include it in your review.

DO MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW MEMBERS GET PAID FOR WRITING REVIEWS?

No. We do not pay anyone to write reviews. There is no pressure or expectation to write positive reviews, and negative reviews do not affect membership in the programme.

 

ARE REVIEWS COLLECTED THROUGH THE MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PROGRAMME LABELLED DIFFERENTLY?

Yes. To ensure reviews are helpful and authentic, any reviews gathered through the My John Lewis Review Programme will display a badge with a review panel message and an indicator the product was received free of charge.

 

IT HAS BEEN A WEEK AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY PRODUCT. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Most of the products are sent within 5 working days from when the campaign ends. However, if you don't hear from a supplier within 2 weeks and the shipment information has not been shared with you, feel free to contact us and we will investigate this further. Before you get in touch, please check your email inbox to ensure no information has been shared with you.

Please note, for large items when a further contact is required to schedule a delivery, it might take up to a month to be contacted by one of our trusted suppliers.

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPLY TO SAMPLE A PRODUCT?

Once you have requested your sample you will receive a confirmation email. Those who are most compatible with the product will then be selected to participate in the campaign. We are unable to guarantee that everyone who applies will receive a product to review.

 

CAN I CHANGE MY PRODUCT SELECTION?

Once the product is selected you won’t be able to change your product selection. A campaign will close automatically as soon as all products have been requested. When requesting your product please read all information we shared with you via email inviting you to participate in the campaign to ensure you can comply with all campaign requirements. 

For example, there might be compatibility requirements for electronics that are only compatible with specific software.

 

CAN A SUPPLIER OR JOHN LEWIS CHANGE MY PRODUCT REQUEST?

We would love customers to write and post reviews as quickly as possible but it is important you have had the time to thoroughly use and test the product so that your review is really helpful to other customers.

We ask that you complete your review by the date provided by email. Failure to do so may result in you being removed from our review panel.  

 

WHERE DO I POST MY REVIEW?

After you’ve received your product, we will send you an email with the instructions needed to complete your review. This will include a link to the submission form where you’ll be asked to write your review.

 

WILL JOHN LEWIS EDIT MY REVIEW?

WHERE AND WHEN WILL MY REVIEW APPEAR?

Reviews will appear on the product page relating to the product you have reviewed. Reviews from our Review Programme participants will be displayed a Review Programme logo. As all reviews go through a moderation process, please allow up to 72 hours between the time of submission to the review appearing on the product page.

 

IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PRODUCTS I CAN REQUEST FOR EACH CAMPAIGN?

For each campaign, we limit the available products to one per member. Occasionally there may be instances where more than one is available and will be accompanied with instructions on how to participate in these campaigns.

 

IF I DON'T SELECT ANY PRODUCTS FROM A CAMPAIGN, WILL I BE REMOVED FROM THE MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PROGRAMME?

Though we encourage engaging with the programme as much as possible, we understand that this may not be possible with every campaign. However, if we notice you’ve been inactive for longer periods of time, we may be in touch to confirm you’re still interested in participating.

 

CAN YOU DELIVER MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PRODUCTS OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM?

Unfortunately, we cannot support delivery outside of the UK at this time.

 

HOW DO I RETURN, CANCEL OR MODIFY MY REQUESTS?

You can cancel your product selection and arrange to return review products by emailing myjlreviewpanel@johnlewis.co.uk. The supplier will then arrange a collection.

 

WHAT TYPES OF PRODUCTS DO YOU OFFER THROUGH THE MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PROGRAMME?

We carefully select products from across various categories for the My John Lewis Review Programme. This could be anything from a state-of-the-art cooker to products from a new haircare line.

 CAN I INVITE MY FRIENDS TO MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW?

For the time being, participation in the My John Lewis Review Programme is limited to selected customers who have received direct invites from us to join.

 

WHY HAVE I BEEN REMOVED FROM THE PROGRAMME?

You may be removed from the My John Lewis Review Programme if you write reviews which do not comply with our terms and conditions, allow non-members to write your reviews for you or share your unique register details with others who have not been invited to the programme. No, personal details can be only updated by a member.

 

MY PRODUCT WAS SENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

John Lewis and our trusted suppliers can only send a product to the address provided in the ‘Your Account’ area at the time of requesting the product. If you have moved and changed the address, please remember to update your details in the ‘Your Account’ section as products cannot be re-delivered to different addresses. We recommend keeping your account details up to date.

 

HOW DO I REMOVE MYSELF FROM THE MY JOHN LEWIS REVIEW PANEL DISTRIBUTION LIST?

Yes. John Lewis employees are eligible to participate. Only Partners who meet specific criteria can participate in the initiative. The criteria are set by John Lewis at the time of inviting customers to participate in this review panel. 4 THE PRIZE

4.2 Any expenses in the general use of and enjoyment of the prize that the winners or their guests incur are the sole responsibility of the winners or their guests. Travel expenses are not included and will not be reimbursed.

4.3. Prizes are subject to availability. They are non-transferable, non-refundable and, unless stated, there are no cash alternatives. Returns are only available for an exchange rather than monetary value. 5 WINNERS SELECTION

All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winner will be picked at random.  

5.2 The winner’s details (name and county) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter at 171 Victoria Street, SW1E 5NN, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope.

 

6 WINNER NOTIFICATION
6.1
The winner will be notified by Instagram the verified @johnlewis account, as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the competition entry. The winner will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event the winner does not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner.

The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. 2 DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

2.1 Entries must be received between 00:00am on 12th December and 11:59pm on 20th December (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.

3 HOW TO ENTER

3.1 Prize draws will be posted in collaboration with the following influencers: @bradleydreha, @rmw.home and @sanaaandmummy. To enter, simply go to the @bradleydreha, @rmw.home or @sanaaandmummy page, follow the competition instructions on the post entitled WIN a £250  gift voucher following the instructions in the caption.

3.3 No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

4 THE PRIZE

4.1 The prize includes one £250 John Lewis voucher

5 WINNER SELECTION

5.1 All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winners will be picked at random.

5.2 The winner’s details (name and county) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter at 171 Victoria Street, SW1E 5NN, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope.

6 WINNER NOTIFICATION

6.1 Winners will be notified by TikTok direct message from @johnlewis as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the competition entry. The winners will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event winners do not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner.

6.2 Please allow 30 days from the date of the winner’s address verification for delivery of the prize.

7 DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY

7.1 By entering the competition, you understand that for the purposes of administering the competition and prize fulfillment, it is necessary for the Promoter to hold and process your personal data:

8.1 The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

9 GENERAL

9.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the competition into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the competition.

We may be unable to carry out certain treatments if you are suffering with any skin conditions, are taking certain medications, or have had recent tattoos or piercings. Please talk to us before your appointment if you think you may be affected.
  • Although every effort is made to use products suitable for your skin type, we are not liable for any allergic reactions that may occur following your appointment.
  • Please tell us if you’re pregnant, as some products may not be suitable.
  • If you’re late, then your treatment may be reduced or altered to accommodate this, but in some cases we may not be able to carry out the treatment at all and you’ll be asked to rebook your appointment for another time or day.

  • For your peace of mind, we offer a 60-night sleep comfort trial period on selected John Lewis mattresses. To qualify you must purchase a mattress protector in the first transaction. In order for us to offer the best advice on a different mattress, visit your nearest shop for an exchange and we’ll recommend an alternative to suit you.
  • 60 Night Comfort Trial starts on the day of delivery of your John Lewis mattress. The offer is available when we can verify the purchase and delivery date and see a mattress protector in the same transaction.
  • Customers must purchase and use a mattress protector that is purchased in the same transaction as the mattress if the sleep trial is to be valid (as we will not accept any soiled mattresses). Our normal returns policy applies to mattress protectors (non returnable if used).
  • For a Customer to redeem the Trial in order to get the best advice and to try an alternative model, please visit your nearest branch before 60 nights. 
  • The offer is available on all John Lewis mattresses with the exception of ITS, Special Buy, Anyday, House and JLP Essentials. Branded mattresses have their own sleep trial.
  • Customers are entitled to an exchange and not a full refund. A refund of the difference if a cheaper equivalent is chosen; or Customers may pay the difference if a more expensive equivalent is chosen.
  • If purchased originally online, if a higher priced exchange item is chosen, the difference will be processed in store on a Gift Card. Note if refunded, this will go back as store credit.
  • If the original purchase was made using Interest Free Credit, the original transaction will be refunded and a new order and credit agreement placed.
