John Lewis shops
will be closed on Monday
On Monday 19 September 2022 – the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's funeral – the nation gathers to reflect on the long and happy life of Britain's longest-serving monarch.
As a mark of respect, all John Lewis shops will close for the day. They will reopen at the usual time on Tuesday 20 September.

Can I still place an order online for delivery?
Yes, you can still place orders online and on our app. We are extending standard delivery to 7 days for any orders placed from Monday 19 September.
Can I get Next & Named Day delivery before the weekend?
Orders placed before 2pm on Thursday 15 September will be delivered for the following day.
Can I still use Click & Collect?
Click & Collect will not be available at any John Lewis shop on Monday 19 September. The next available collection dates and locations will be shown at checkout.
Are all in-store events cancelled?
Yes, all in-store events have unfortunately been cancelled. We will reschedule as soon as we can.
How can I keep in touch with you?
As a mark of respect we will be closing our customer contact lines on Monday 19 September. We will re-open as usual on Tuesday 20 September.
Will Waitrose be open?
All Waitrose shops will be closed on Monday 19 September, with the exception of five shops in London. They will be open to serve people lining the route of the funeral procession but will close for the service itself. Find out more here.
Orders & Delivery
Can I still receive delivery of larger items such as appliances or furniture?
No, home deliveries for larger items will be postponed until just after Monday 19 September. You will receive a call to rearrange.
If my usual Click & Collect location has closed, what other options do I have?
Available locations and collection dates will be shown at checkout.
What if a Click & Collect location closes and I haven’t collected my parcel yet?
Where locations are closed but your order has already been delivered, it will be available to collect from Tuesday 20 September.
Returns
How is your returns policy affected?
Our returns policy continues as normal. You can return your item unused and in original condition (including all labels and tags intact) with proof of purchase within 35 days. We’ll give you an exchange or refund, as long as your returned product meets our terms and conditions.
Are services affected?
All in-store, at-home and online services (such as nursery and fashion advice) will be suspended on Monday 19 September. They will commence the following day.
Can I still book home installation and assembly services on appliances, tech and furniture?
Unfortunately, these services will not be available on Monday 19 September. They will recommence as normal the following day.
What if my product is currently with you for a repair, or develops a fault while you're closed?
Where the item is already in one of our shops, we will contact you after Monday 19 September with an update. For items that are with one of our approved repair agents, we are working with them to arrange a home delivery once the repair is complete.
