Hannah Cole was born and grew up in rural North Devon and has maintained a long affinity with the West Country coast and landscape. Now based in Brighton, she regularly revisits Devon and Cornwall where many of the harbour scenes originate.

The charm of these coastal scenes lie in their naïve and calm rendering of the colours, sights and spirit of popular coastal settings. With their simple narratives they conjure feelings of nostalgia with a peaceful fresh air appeal.
