Fine, soft wools are carefully dyed by hand and embroidered onto cotton base fabric, which has the design traced on it, using an ancient technique. Artisans work in the mountainous regions in Kashmir, often in remote crofts. The embroidered panels are collected, washed by hand with water from mountain streams, then made up into cushions.
