The Ercolino bottle opener from Alessi is made with stainless steel and beautiful pear wood, which is definitely the star of the show. It's designed by Andrea Branzi who considers turned wood to be one of the best materials to use when crafting objects, believing that it has an expressive potential unmatched by other materials.
Born in Florence in 1938 Andrea Branzi is an architect, designer and was one of the founders of the Domus Academy, a design school in Milan that teaches postgraduate courses in a wide range of design specialisations.
