The top-grain leather used to create the strap is sourced from a small French tannery, which was established in 1803 to make supple Granada leather, where it has been lightly milled and tumbled to guarantee its refined texture.

The strap also features an inner layer of Vectran weave for strength and stretch resistance, which is the same material NASA uses to make landing airbags for the Mars Rover spacescraft.
