Burt's Bees began in Maine as a small, home-based business making beeswax into candles and lip balm for sale at local craft fairs. By 1992 it had outgrown 2 factories and moved to its current premises in North Carolina.
Burt's Bees avoid using chemical ingredients wherever possible and use no artificial colourings.
