We have been so proud to collaborate with London Fashion Week to celebrate personal style and self-expression with the first ever LFW show made with content created by the public. Not only this, but as the first gender-neutral and fully-digital LFW too, It was a fashion moment to remember.

Competition Terms and Conditions

1 WHO CAN JOIN THE SHOW

1.1 Video submissions are open to anyone aged 18 years and over.  All submitters must have a valid email address, public Twitter, public Instagram account, or public Facebook account.  If you or anyone in the video are under the age of 18 years old, parental or legal guardian consent must be obtained prior to submitting your video via social media hashtag. John Lewis maintains the right to require any information they consider reasonably necessary to successfully verify your eligibility. 

1.2 By submitting your video via #LFWCatwalkChallenge and tagging the @johnlewisandpartners handle, you acknowledge and agree that this is not a competition.  You agree and acknowledge that all video submissions are owned by you and that the likeness of anyone who appears in the video gives their consent or, if they are under the age of 18, has the consent of a parent or guardian.

1.3 By submitting your video, you acknowledge and agree selected videos will not receive a prize for a video submission. John Lewis agrees to pay £5 per video, per social media account, to The British Fashion Council Foundation Fashion Fund (registration no. 1185152), capped at £20,000 in aggregate for the duration of the challenge.

1.4 By submitting your video, via #LFWCatwalkChallenge, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions; and the instructions provided at the point of entry form as part of the Terms and Conditions of this video donation.  In the event of a conflict, these Terms and Conditions take precedence.  

2 HOW TO SUBMIT A VIDEO

2.1 To be included in the challenge, please upload your videos to your personal, public, social media account. Upon upload, use the hashtag #LFWCatwalkChallenge and tag the @johnlewisandpartners handle, to make your submission. 

2.2 There is a limit of one entry per person per social media account.

2.3 Proof of submission of a donated video is not proof of receipt. John Lewis accepts no responsibility for the content and in no way, is John Lewis required to stream a video. The length of videos may be edited down.

2.4 Any video that contains violence, hate speech, racist insignia, islamophobic insignia, anti-trans and homophobic placards or slurs, images of an overtly sexual nature, and images or speech that is not in-line with John Lewis's core values will not be used.

3 DEADLINE FOR VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

3.1 The challenge opens to Customers at [12:00] GMT, on Tuesday 9th June 2020, and closes at 12:00 GMT on Friday 12th June 2020 ("Closing Date"). 

3.2 Entries must be received within the dates of the challenge to potentially be included in the final London Fashion Week, on-schedule video due to air 14 June 2020. 

4 WHAT HAPPENS TO VIDEOS ONCE SUBMITTED

4.1 The John Lewis team will select their favourite videos from the pool of donated videos, after the Closing Date.

4.2 On 14 June 2020, selected videos and images will be edited, and streamed across John Lewis social media accounts and YouTube, and The British Fashion Council social media accounts, YouTube, and on the londonfashionweek.co.uk website.  

5 OWNERSHIP OF SUBMITTED VIDEOS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

5.1 All videos donated to John Lewis will become the property of John Lewis, and will not be returned to you.

5.2 You agree that John Lewis may, but is not required to, make your video available on its websites and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the Event. 

5.3 By submitting your video to John Lewis, and any accompanying material, you agree to:

5.3.1 Assign to John Lewis all you Intellectual Property Rights with full guarantee; and

5.3.2 Waive all moral rights.

5.4 Any assignment of Intellectual Property Rights as mentioned above, will be without any compensation to you.

5.5 By donating your video, and any accompanying material, you warrant that:

5.5.1 You are the owner and that your submission is a true and accurate likeness of yourself, is not defamatory and does not infringe upon any third party's rights; and

5.5.2 There are no conflicting agreements in place that restrict usage of your video submission.

6 DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY

6.1 By donating your video, you acknowledge and accept that for the purposes of carrying out streaming of catwalks at home, it is necessary for John Lewis to hold and process your personal data and for your likeness to be in the public domain.

6.2 If your video selected for streaming, you agree that John Lewis may use your name, likeness and county of residence alongside your video submission and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes, for no further consideration.

7 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

7.1 John Lewis and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits//0, expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not resulting from any person's negligence) in connection with this Event, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud, death, or personal injury resulting from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.  Your statutory rights are not affected.

7.2 If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of John Lewis's agents, or partners involved in the administration of this Event, you acknowledge and agree that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by the terms of that third party's privacy policy and that John Lewis accepts no responsibility, of any kind, or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.

8 GENERAL

8.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions or if John Lewis believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the Event into disrepute, John Lewis and its Partners may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make render your video submission void and will entitle John Lewis to exclude you from participating in the Event. 

8.2 The decision of John Lewis regarding any aspect of the Event is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. 

8.3 John Lewis reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the Event where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any video submitters or third parties.

8.4 This Event and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
