Advertising Feature: How to get a party season glow, with Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier Christmas party beauty look

Take your cue from Laura Mercier and create a dewy base with radiant colour in the cheeks and flattering metallic eyeshadow

Step one: Skin

Start by massaging in moisturiser and serum to prep the skin before make-up. Apply a little pressure along the orbital bone, then use a circular sweeping motion all around the eye to aid lymphatic drainage.

Step two: Base

Primer creates a flawless base and locks skincare in – Foundation Primer in Radiance is the perfect choice for party season as it adds a subtle glow. Next, use a sponge to apply Silk Crème Moisturising Photo Edition Foundation, pressing and rolling it to create a flawless look. For areas that need a little more coverage, such as around the eyes and nose, use a small brush to add Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Concealer. Finally, apply Translucent Loose Setting Powder with Laura Mercier’s micro-dosing technique: tap the powder into the lid of the pot, then dab the puff in, bend the puff around your finger and roll the powder onto the T-zone.

Step three: Blush

For a modern take on contouring, use two shades of Blush Colour Infusion to sculpt the cheeks. Use a cooler shade – such as Ginger – on the hairline and under the cheekbone. Add fullness with a warmer shade, such as Peach, dusting it in a reverse C shape from the apples of your cheeks up to the pupil, but not beyond. There should be no harsh lines. Use a fan brush to sweep a blend of all three shades of the Mood Lights Face Illuminator over cheeks.

Step four: Eyes

Enhance your eyes with the Night Lights Eye & Cheek Palette. Sweep one of the shimmering Luster Eye Colour shades across the whole eyelid and follow with a matte colour along the eyeline to create a soft feline flick. Curl the lashes and apply two coats of Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara right to the roots, paying attention to the inner and outer corner. Define brows by brushing the hairs up and applying Eyebrow Pencil with upward strokes. Brush the hair down and fill in any gaps with downward strokes, then add fullness with Brow Dimension Fibre Infused Colour Gel.

Step five: Lips

For long-lasting lip colour, apply Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Concealer and a dusting of Translucent Loose Setting Powder to bare lips before colour. Paint Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in Dominate straight from the bullet, right up to the lip line. Add Joie De Vivre Lip Pencil in Punch last, working from each side of the lips to meet in the middle. For accuracy, look downwards while applying liner to the top line.
