A new and easy way to bring colour into your home

Colour has the power to transform a space. It’s often the first decision we make when decorating and sets the mood, shapes the atmosphere and helps inspire other decorating decisions.

The colour edit is our celebration of just that. A thoughtfully curated collection that brings together 18 of our signature designs, each available in 9 timeless hues: butter yellow, ochre, sienna, burnt umber, deep plaster, avocado, pistachio, nordic blue and dark night sky. It’s a simple way to explore the full palette and discover the colour that feels right for your home.

Rather than searching product by product, our edit lets you see every shade side by side, making it easier to compare, imagine and choose what will work in your space.

We know how important colour is, whether you want to play with just one tone or mix and match pieces across the range of shades. This is why we have a full-time colourist working in our in-house design studio. For more than 20 years, Melanie Archer has developed the John Lewis core palette of easy-to-live-with colours that work with each other in harmony, creating a cohesive look across our Home products.

Each season, in partnership with the wider design studio, Melanie creates a seasonal palette; born from the core palette with complimentary new colours, it often features a trend-led hue as well – for example, pistachio in SS25, cocoa in AW26, indigo in SS26 and butter yellow for AW26.

Bringing together pieces from across our collections, the colour edit is more than a showcase of products; it’s a reflection of our passion for colour and the thoughtful way it’s woven through everything we create. Whether you’re drawn to soft, understated neutrals or richer, more expressive tones, each shade has been carefully selected for its lasting appeal and effortless versatility.
