On Trial: iCandy Peach 7 Coco

The list of things you ‘need’ when you have a baby can seem a little overwhelming, but as a mum of three I can tell you that along with a cot and a carseat, a pushchair is a key investment and probably the most useful piece of kit you need. 

A behemoth of the pushchair world is iCandy. From its roots in London’s fashion design and manufacturing scene, iCandy has been owned and run by the same family in the UK for over 90 years. Their pushchairs and car seats have won countless awards, and it’s safe to say if you invest in one your baby will be in safe hands.

Now in its seventh generation, every element of the iCandy Peach has been crafted to perfection when it comes to functionality, quality and safety. It’s the ideal travel system for your growing family because it’ll take your baby from birth to 25kg (roughly three years old). It can also easily convert into a double pushchair thanks to clever adaptors, so if you’re hoping to have a bigger family, investing in one early doors will give you the most miles for your money. 

Famous for its one-handed fold and slick carry strap, the Peach is now available in a fashion-forward colorway: coco. I can’t tell you how much I love this super chic colour, it stands out from the sea of grey and black prams and still features iCandy’s much loved super soft premium knitted jersey fabric and leatherette handlebar. 

Perhaps one of the most standout things about the iCandy Peach is the carrycot, which is one of the only ones on the market to have been approved and certified for overnight sleeping. If your little one falls asleep in the spacious, fleece-lined carry cot and you’re loathed to wake them, you can simply lower the canopy, zip-off the pram apron and you’re left with the ideal moses basket or travel cot solution. This is a game changer when it comes to travelling because it means you no longer need to pack both a pushchair and a travel cot. 

Super easy. Everything clicks together seamlessly and the helpful guide has pictures for those of us who need a little extra help. 

The high-quality aluminium frame makes the pushchair easy to push, lift and manoeuver on all terrain - even the woodland entrance to our nursery doesn't phase the suspension.

I love the addition of the new integrated Ride-on Board. Now it's part of the base of the pushchair, it's much more stable for our toddler.

At £1,250 it’s a huge investment for anyone – but I can hand on heart say it’s worth every penny. This is not a one-time use item, you’ll literally use your pushchair more than any other baby-paraphernalia you buy. The best thing about the iCandy Peach is that it really does grow with your child. We’ve had our iCandy for nearly eight years, I’ve used it with all three children and Bonnie is now 15 months and still in it daily. 

The materials wear well and have survived numerous spills and cleanup operations, and the four wheel suspension is still fantastic despite me bumping it through the woods on a daily basis. 

I only wish I’d had all these accessories the first two times around, because with the adaptors, parasol and raincover you’re all set for every eventuality and all weather fronts good old England decides to throw at you. A resounding yes.
