The situation around COVID-19 is changing rapidly. Where our operations continue, deliveries are largely continuing as normal, but we are seeing delays of 24-72 hours to countries that have special measures or restrictions in place. Australia and Qatar may have delays up to 96 hours.

We have paused deliveries to Malaysia due to commercial flight restrictions. We will aim to revert to normal operations as soon as usual flight operations resume.

 We'll continue to update this page with any new information as we have it.

Visa, mastercard, maestro and paypal

PayPal is available only for transactions in GBP, and you can use gift cards for international orders placed via the UK site, but not via international domains.

Where we deliver to, costs & delivery timescales

We offer delivery of a wide range of fashion and home products from to international destinations. 

We’ve temporarily closed our International sites from accepting orders in your local currency. Customers shipping to the following destinations can continue to shop from our UK website only, with a limited assortment available to ship. You will be notified at checkout if there are products that are not able to be delivered to your chosen destination:

Europe: France, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Finland and Poland

Rest of the world: Singapore, Qatar and South Korea

Further information on international shopping

  • If you're ordering for someone else, as a gift for example, please provide an accurate delivery address and the recipient's contact details. They'll be contacted if the gift is held at customs. Please be aware that they may be required to pay local customs taxes and duties if you're sending to destinations outside of the EU.
  • If you'd like to have items sent to separate addresses, please complete a separate order for each address. A separate delivery charge will be made for each address.
  • Please note that the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland are treated as part of the UK, not International delivery.
  • In some but not all instances, the recipient will need to sign for an international delivery; this depends on the local carrier and value of the order. We'd advise you assume that someone needs to be in to receive the parcel.
  • Our Never Knowingly Undersold price promise only applies to shopping in the UK and not internationally
  • Added Care purchase (our Accidental Damage Insurance) is only available for UK orders
  • my John Lewis membership is only available for UK shoppers
  • We're sorry that we can't currently deliver website orders to BFPO addresses
  • Please note that we don't internationally ship to PO boxes
  • Please note that for some destinations we're unable to deliver beauty, bedding (including duvets, pillows and mattress toppers)childrenswear, food and certain fragile, heavy or large products

What we can deliver internationally

We deliver a wide range of home and fashion products internationally, but there are certain products which aren't eligible. These include electricals, furniture, nursery travel, window treatments or flooring.

If you’ve changed your mind about keeping your purchase, please return it in its original condition with proof of purchase and we’ll refund it. Unless faulty, this should be within 35 days of receiving your order. By original condition, we’d expect this to mean that you’ve kept packaging and labels, and that the item is undamaged and unused.


International returns can be managed via our John Lewis returns portal. Country exclusions apply - see below for detail. To complete your return, please follow the link, enter your email address and original order number.

The John Lewis International returns portal is unable to support returns to the following countries:

Europe: Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Norway

Rest of the world: Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Qatar, and the Philippines.

If you wish to return an order from any of these countries, please follow the below instructions:

  • Package your Item(s) up securely with the delivery note inside and mark the outside of your parcel with 'RETURNED GOODS' and send to Unit A, Unit 1 Saxon Avenue, Grange Park, Northampton, NN4 5EL. Please make sure that whatever your reason for returning goods, you obtain proof of postage from your post office, and we'll credit your account as soon as possible.
  • If you have changed your mind about keeping the item, you'll need to pay for the return postage, and we won't refund the original delivery charge. 
  • If you're exercising your EU right to cancel your order within 14 days, we'll refund you for the products and the original standard delivery charge. If your item is damaged, faulty or not as described, please call us on +44 1698 54 54 54
  • Keep your proof of return until you receive confirmation you have been refunded. You will receive a refund within 28 days to the payment method that you have used to place your order.
  • We’re unable to offer international customers refunds or exchanges, unless faulty, on perishable goods; swimwear or underwear that has been worn; used bedding; pierced earrings; products that have been personalised or specially ordered for you.

Please note that anything you've bought from our UK shops or from cannot be returned to any of our international outlets. Please contact Customer Services directly to discuss your return.

Under UK & EU VAT Law, VAT is due on all sales to private individuals where the goods will be taken to or delivered to an address in the EU.

VAT & Customs Payments – Non EU

UK VAT is not charged where the goods are exported, and the export is evidenced, to a destination outside the EU.

Goods exported by John Lewis International

Where goods are delivered to destinations outside the EU by John Lewis International these may be subject to taxes, fees, levies or other charges, which are imposed by local legislation. The recipient of the goods is responsible for all customs formalities at importation, and will be required to pay any additional charges, including import duty, formal customs entry, taxes, levies and other charges.

The recipient of the goods, who may not be the person who has ordered them, will receive a separate request for payment of these charges.

Channel Islands

While the Channel Islands are part of the UK, the goods may still be liable for Customs duties and VAT in accordance with Channel Islands import rules.

As we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be, we are sorry that we are not able to offer any assistance on these processes. We would advise that you check the import charges applicable in any non-EU country before ordering goods to be delivered there.

If you're ordering goods to be delivered to someone else, please make sure they are aware that they'll be responsible for these additional charges.
