Luggage Guarantees
All luggage is guaranteed against faulty workmanship and some of the brands we stock offer guarantees covering many years.
What is covered?
Your guarantee covers you for manufacturing faults or material defects that are detrimental to normal use of the product which excludes mishandling by carriers*.
If the luggage is damaged during transport, we ask that you take the matter up directly with your carrier in the first instance. All member airlines of the IATA (The International Air Transport Association) will handle claims in accordance with the Montreal Convention from 1999.
When claiming:
- Proof of purchase is required
- We may provide a repair service should your product fail during the guarantee period
- We reserve the right to use alternative, similar materials, where the original is no longer available
- If your product cannot be repaired or we’re unable to offer a repair service, we will replace it with the same model. If no longer available, we will provide an equivalent product or value towards the purchase of a new product at our discretion
What your guarantee doesn't cover
- Damage caused by Airline luggage handlers or other travel operators (Examples are scratches, rips, cracks, dents, sheared off wheels or components, bent trolley handles and similar)
*Note: The exception is Briggs & Riley, where all products are covered by an unconditional lifetime warranty that includes all damage caused in transit, including airline damage. - General use or wear and tear
- Neglect, theft or accidents
- Discolorations of parts that can occur during normal use
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Damage caused by exposure to acids, water, chemicals, solvents which include beauty products
- Damage to any contents in transit such as media equipment, bottles, photographic equipment etc.
- Matching products or items purchased as a set
- Combination lock issues caused by incorrect setting of the lock, incorrect use of the lock or where it has been forced open
- If there is evidence of product abuse, misuse (i.e. damage resulting from a use not adapted to the product such as transporting inappropriate objects, children or using the suitcase for sitting) or use other than domestic use the guarantee is invalid
