A hand blown, glass cone-shaped shade with sandblasted edges, creating a sleek and stylish centrepiece. The lamp simultaneously provides both diffused and direct light, and can be put in pairs and lines to create striking lighting features.
Achille Castiglioni created the pendant in 1996, inspired by his fathers multiple light chandelier that was designed and placed in his house in the 30s.
He crafted the Fucsia body out of an aluminium tube and a socket with the top part forming a truncated cone. The base has an opal glass silicone diffuser protection ring, perfect for an even illumination.
Italian Castiglioni is renowned for his use of minimal material to create maximum effect. In his time, he’s produced more than 150 products during his career and, other than Flos, has designed for Alessi and Zanotta.
His mantra for design is to identify the “Principal Design Component,” which ensures your approach is efficient, looking for a products purpose rather than its appearance.
Flos is one of Castiglioni’s most productive relationships. He and Pier Giacomo developed dozens of extraordinarily inventive lights for Flos.
Flos, the Italian lighting manufacturer, have been developing new lighting concepts since 1962 and have collaborated with many more internationally renowned designers including Philippe Starck. They aim to changed the concept of illumination itself, with strong and symbolic designs.

Flos are one of the longest established premier lighting designers, and have created some truly iconic shapes. They were founded in 1962 by Dino Gavina and Cesare Cassina, who enlised the aid of Achille Castiglioni, Pier Giacome Castiglioni and Tobia Scarpa to design. They soon went on to open their first store in 1968 and would eventually go on to design for residential, commercial and bepoke use for hotels, offices and stores. More from Flos
