Sustainable product pioneers Bags of Ethics have launched Great British Designer Wrapping Bags; ethical, reusable and sustainable packaging alternatives designed by the best of British designers Giles Deacon and Preen. The bags can be reused over 5,000 times and come in packs of 3. A portion of the sales profit from all wrapping bags will be donated to British Fashion Council Foundation Fashion Fund for the Covid Crisis (Charity Number 1185152).
The UK consumes enough card packaging to wrap Big Ben 260,000 times each festive season, so Bags of Ethics are determined to turn gift giving into a planet positive practice following their highly successful campaign ‘Great British Designer Face Coverings’ with the British Fashion Council.
Manufactured using organic cotton sateen fabric and water based non-toxic inks, the prints have been carefully chosen to beautifully celebrate key moments, all-year round. They can hold everything from jewellery and books to computer accessories and shoes and can be tied in a variety of ways.
Giles Deacon has supplied two prints: “Cosmic Phoenix” – a vibrant design featuring red phoenixes against a yellow and blue backdrop, and “Moon Meadow” – an homage to British woodland life in a design-forward reflex blue and white.

The UK’s yearly wrapping paper consumption represents 380,000 trees cut down, 11,000 tons of CO2 and 20,000 tons of waste. We want to help normalise reusable wrapping and help make the festive season more sustainable.”
Made with organic cotton and also Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified. This assures that high social and environmental standards of manufacture have been met across the entire textile supply chain.
