John Lewis & Partners Contour Dining Chair, Black/Grey

Our Design Studio have made our Contour dining chair to provide maximum comfort using minimal materials. They exploited the potential of mouldable plywood in order to make a three-dimensional backrest that contours the body, while also giving the design a visual lightness. The seat pad is foam-filled and upholstered in supple leather for a premium finish.

Casual curves
Manufacturer's have traditionally used plastic to mould furniture into complex shapes, however for a more natural finish and with added veneers, we've formed the curved backrest from plywood. It almost cocoons the back, supporting you so that you sit in comfort.

Sleek frame
Discreet and streamlined, the steel frame has been designed to create a seamless connection with the wooden back rest. Cut into a flat, oval tube, the frame appears thinner from certain angles.

Stack it away
Up to four of our Contour chairs can be stacked together, making them ideal for smaller spaces and temporary dining rooms. This chair has also been tested to contract use.
