Trade-in FAQs
About the John Lewis trade-in service
How do I sell my device?
Selling your device has never been easier. To find out your trade-in value, fill out your details on our trade-in page. You’ll then need to answer some questions about the condition of your device before receiving a quote value. Then we’ll tell you how you can send it to us.
What happens to my device after trade-in?
Responsible reuse is the guiding principle of John Lewis trade-in. Once it's received by Likewize, your device will be assessed, securely data wiped, cleaned and polished in preparation for resale. In some cases, they may need a full refurbishment to bring it back to working order. Any devices that are beyond repair, are responsibly recycled to minimise environmental impact.
Why should I sell my device with John Lewis instead of eBay?
When you sell your phone to us, you’re guaranteed to sell it, which is different from an open market source like eBay. Providing your details are correct, we’ll pay the quoted value with your preferred payment method and we don’t charge a commission for selling to us. And we make sure your device is securely data wiped before reselling. If you’re unable to securely data wipe, we’ll destroy data bearing parts and responsibly recycle all components.
