Listen up, Private! Ignoring the wall running, double jumping and futuristic setting of the past three games in the series, Call of Duty: WWII, the first-person shooter, action-adventure video game, returns to its ‘boots on the ground’ beginnings.

Touching on events from 1940 to 1944, the game features the intense heroism of the Allied Forces during the European theatre of war. The single player campaign mainly covers the Invasion of Normandy (D-Day), Liberation of Paris, Battle of Aachen, Battle of Hürtgen Forest and Battle of the Bulge. This time, all players start in ‘Hardcore Mode’ and there’s no health regeneration – you have to rely on your squad members to share health packs or provide ammunition.

COD wouldn’t be COD without multiplayer; you’ll be randomly assigned to either the Allies or Axis sides, where you can choose from one of five divisions: Infantry, Airborne, Armoured, Mountain or Expeditionary.

Stepping back from the horrific, real-world atrocities of WWII, COD:WWII features the popular zombie mode from previous games. Set in an alternative dimension / time, the Third Reich, in their desperation to win the war, have created an undead army and it’s up to you to save the planet from the abominable Nazi regime and their unnatural forces.
