The Lounge Chair, created by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s, was designed with the aim of combining an elegant appearance with ultimate comfort. It has been produced by Vitra using virtually the same methods ever since and is now recognised as a great classic of twentieth-century furniture design.

The chair is paired with the coordinating ottoman, so you can sink into the seat and relax in ultimate comfort. Upholstered in soft, supple leather, it's well-cushioned with foam that's held in place by a tufted finish for maximum support. Crafted from a moulded plywood and palisander veneer frame that lends a retro-inspired feel, this chair marries high-quality materials with a timeless design.

With its lively grain pattern, palisander was an integral part of the original design by Charles and Ray Eames and is still considered the "classic version" today. Vitra uses santos palisander from FSC-certified forests in Bolivia.
