tonies® launches Toniebox 2

Parents rejoice. tonies® has unveiled the brand-new Toniebox 2, which is packed full of games and even more ways to enjoy interactive, screen-free play.

Ever since tonies® launched its first audio player, Toniebox, back in 2013, it has been empowering kids to take the lead when discovering audiobooks and interacting with stories – no adults required. After selling 10 million boxes (and counting), the brand has now released the Toniebox 2, which goes even further by introducing a new category of interactive games, quizzes and challenges. 

Designed for little ones aged between one and nine plus, Toniebox 2 allows them to decide the course of their interactive adventures, helping to boost independence and confidence. ‘Toniebox 2 is much more than just an updated version of the original,’ says Tobias Wann, tonies® CEO. ‘Its interactive design lets even the youngest children take control of their play with simple, intuitive gestures.’ Little wonder it's one of John Lewis’ must-have toys for Christmas 2025.

Toniebox 2 builds on the original fan favourite, offering the same exceptional audio-player experience in a design that’s built to withstand years of bumps and tumbles. Now though, it also features the extra option for kids to add Tonieplay to unlock screen-free interactive games, quizzes, and challenges. Using the Tonieplay Controller, kids take the lead as audio prompts guide them through adventures from some of their favourite characters.

Toniebox 2’s refreshed design is even more squeezable, and is available in new colours (Sunset Red, Cloud Pink, Tropical Teal, or Moon Grey). There is also a dynamic Light Ring, which glows in rainbow colours when Tonies are playing, and gives helpful light cues to guide kids through the Tonieplay games. Plus, it can help build better bedtimes and promote healthy sleep routines with its new smart features, the Sleep Timer with Light and Sunrise Alarm. 

Designed exclusively for Toniebox 2, Tonieplay was developed by a team of experts in education and gaming to turn the Toniebox into a safe and screen-free audio gaming experience for kids. 

There are twelve unique Tonieplay Games to choose from, featuring characters from PAWPatrol, Gabby’s Dollhouse, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Quiz Kingdom, and tonies®’s very own Lalalinos. Some games are great for independent play, while some offer the option to team up with others for a board-game-like experience that enhances gameplay.

Yes, all previously released Tonies are fully compatible with the new Toniebox 2. So kids can still listen, play and explore with their favourites.

Alongside the release of the new Toniebox 2, there’s also the new My First Tonies line of soft, squeezable Tonies designed especially for little ones aged up to two years.
