Master the 2026 dress code with these head-turning tennis looks

Is there an official dress code for Wimbledon?

Wimbledon is the world’s oldest tennis tournament, and while there is no official dress code (unless you’re in the Royal Box or certain lounges – check your ticket), there’s definitely an unspoken one. If you’re lucky enough to be attending, you need to master courtside style. Think: easy elegance, British garden party, timeless appeal. Yes, you can wear jeans to Wimbledon, but it’s such a special place, and really the peak of London summer style, so we’ve put together some winning looks to help inspire both you and your wardrobe.

Wimbledon whites

While the official Wimbledon colours are dark green and purple, there has been an all-white dress code for players since 1963, and many like to stick to this crisp-white colour scheme. When it comes to dress styles, you can’t go wrong with a modest midi and on-trend drop-waist dress.

Summer tailoring

Tailored co-ords and jumpsuits give a sense of polished practicality. Our three-piece John Lewis x Rejina Pyo set balances structure and silhouette, and is made in a lightweight linen blend. Plus the spring green shade is perfect for the sporting event.

Shoes and accessories

All-day comfort is on the agenda, as there will be lots of walking involved. Wedges, smart trainers and block heeled sandals ace the brief. Meanwhile, avoid wearing large fascinators and hats so the people sitting behind you can see. And don’t forget sunglasses and jewellery.

Polo Ralph Lauren x Wimbledon

As the official outfitter of Wimbledon since 2006, Polo Ralph Lauren returns with a new capsule collection for 2026. Perfect the Centre Court dress code with the classic and elegant collection for men, women and kids.

Wimbledon bag size rules

Bags must be no larger than 40cm x 30cm x 30cm, and hard-sided hampers/cool boxes are not allowed on the grounds. Our selection of crossbody bags and canvas tote bags have you covered, and can fit in an umbrella…
