Easter 2025: inspiring ideas to keep the kids happy
Everything you need to make the spring holidays the best yet, whatever the weather
With the Easter break nearly upon us, we’ve got plenty of ideas to keep the kids (and yourselves) entertained.
Fancy a free, themed day out? Visit a John Lewis store where, between 7 and 21 April, we’re running a Sylvanian Families Hunt every day. When you arrive in-store you’ll be kitted out with clues and activity sheets and, once the hunt is over, we’ll reward everyone who takes part with a special treat.
If you’re staying closer to home, read on for our expert-approved holiday edit; there’s everything from crafting sets to must-have toys, guaranteeing hours of screen-free fun. All while munching on chocolate, obviously.
For plushie-lovers
It's lambing season, so what better way to celebrate Easter than with a super-cute, cuddly new friend? Of the plushie variety, of course. ‘Sales of our Hot Cross Bun soft toy are storming away, and Jellycat favourites sell out as soon as stock comes in,’ says Georgina Davis, John Lewis Partner and Junior Buyer.
For getting outdoors
Summer, is that you? If you’re lucky enough to see blue skies over the Easter holidays, get everyone out into the garden or down to the local park for some fun in the sun.
For indoor playtime
Weather not playing ball? Kids climbing the walls after spending far too long cooped up inside? Whether they’re LEGO lovers or Sylvanian Families fans, reach for one of these great options and get creative at the kitchen table.
Cool Easter looks for kids
April showers followed by bright sunshine? Springtime’s often unpredictable weather calls for versatile clothes that can be layered up – or stripped off – especially when running around on Easter-egg hunts. Above all, think comfort: Mini Rodini’s organic cotton designs are a beautiful example.
