Surprising as this may sound, sitting sedentary at a desk all day isn’t a sure-fire way to feel energised. Or feel anything at all. So to break a habit of a lifetime (sitting staring at a screen), I’ve called in the big guns. The aesthetically pleasing fitness brand Bala has been on my radar for a while, so I’ll be enlisting their viral Bala bangles to maximise my lunchtime yoga sessions, before taking it back to the ’90s with some indoor cycling action courtesy of Reebok’s Z-Power Exercise Bike and a musical side dish of high-emotion power ballads.

I’m covering all bases in the search for lost summer energy, and nothing brings me instant joie de vivre like buying new skincare products. Beauty treats give me joy, especially when they smell like summer (beachy, suncream-y, yang-ylang-y) and you will get no better than Tom Ford Private Blend Soleil Blanc (the body spray version somehow feels more fun). I’m also tackling my despondent skin once and for all with a potent mix of hydrating sheet masks and daily facial massage using the Resculpting Beauty Flash Roller from Clarins, which works to de-puff skin and improve circulation.
