Add a personal touch to your table this spring

It’s all in the details

The easiest way to approach tablescaping is to invest in pieces that can be mixed and matched to create both classic or maximalist tablescapes.

Start by breathing life into your crockery by layering and stacking your plates before adding a bowl of the same colour or an accent sideplate on top of a dinner plate, then top with a napkin.

Contemporary white dinnerware is seeing a huge resurgence and is always worth investing in. Dipped glaze will be popular this year: mix and match deep shades of brown for a really warm tone.

When it comes to glassware, short stem wine glasses in recycled glass will add a relaxed tone to the dinner table, while connoisseur glasses bring a sense of occasion.

Create theatre on your table by adding napkin rings and folding your napkins in a variety of wonderful ways, bows, knots or pouches to hold cutlery.

Lastly, add moments of the unexpected at your table: vases, candles, or table ornaments to bring a touch of character and let your personality shine through.
