The good sleep checklist

Here’s how to bank a better night’s sleep, all year around

1. Linen sheets

Airy and light, linen is associated with summer, but these naturally thermoregulating sheets also warm you up when you’re cool.

2. Quilted layers

A John Lewis bestseller, whether you need extra warmth in winter or a breathable layer in summer, a quilt adapts to your needs and adds interest to the bed.

3. A duvet with a difference

Wool duvets are breathable, moisture wicking and have anti-allergenic properties, meaning there’s no need to switch them out when the seasons change.

4. Lined curtains

Black-out curtains can significantly improve sleep quality by blocking out external light. As this can help to regulate room temperature, they offer energy efficiency too.

5. Egyptian cotton sheets

Why is Egyptian cotton better? Its longer, finer fibres make it more breathable than regular cotton – meaning it’s also softer against your skin.

6. Air purifier

Cleaning the air of irritants and pollutants, such as dust, pet hair, pollen and smoke, provides a fresh environment for better, longer sleep.
