Breakfast just received an Italian-inspired upgrade

What is the De'Longhi Ballerina Seta Toaster?

The De'Longhi Ballerina Seta 4-Slice Toaster is the second wave of the Ballerina products from the brand. While still reminiscent of the gentle movements of a ballet dancer, this range is inspired by the elegant movement of silk.

Ever since De’Longhi was founded in Italy in 1902, Italian craftsmen (and women) have created products inspired by local items. ‘Seta’ is the Italian word for silk and the design of these products aims to transport us back to the Venetian tradition of creating and exporting silk fabrics.

The result is a matching toaster and kettle collection in a stunning deep blue or silky cream colour with a smooth, curved, silk-like pattern on the surface.

What makes the De’Longhi Ballerina Seta collection special?

For starters, as a family of five we’ve used a two-slice toaster for far too long. It’s been a revelation having a four-slice option and makes breakfast much quicker and more efficient. I also love the design detail that means the cord and plug on both the kettle and the toaster are the same colour as the rest of the product - it makes such a difference to overall aesthetics in the kitchen.

Let’s get into the nitty gritty for each product.

/

The Ballerina Seta toaster:

  • Extra lift position: this exclusive extra-lift position is designed for easy removal of small slices
  • Crumb trays: the special crumb trays are fully removable for easy cleaning, preventing breadcrumbs from building up in the toaster.
  • Browning controls: electronic pre-set toasting functions, including defrost, reheat and cancel, with independent controls for each side of the toaster.
/

The Ballerina Seta kettle:

  • Anti-scale filter: this fully removable, washable limescale mesh water filter ensures purity of freshly boiled water for your tea or coffee.
  • 360° swivel base: the 360° rotating swivel base is fully detachable, allowing convenient cordless operation.
  • Water level indicator: there’s a really easy water fill management thanks to the water gauge inside the kettle, with a minimum fill capacity of just one cup.

Is the De’Longhi Ballerina Seta set worth it?

Both the toaster and kettle are priced at a very reasonable £74.99 which is really competitive in the current market.

I’d never had a matching set before but can confirm there’s something so pleasing about both items being the same colour, and while the cream is classic, this shade of blue is really stunning and would work in any kitchen.

I can honestly say it’s worth treating yourself and your kitchen to a touch of Italian design.
