This round-shaped dish has inverted cast iron handles to flip the dish easily when you've finished making the famous French upside-down apple tart or tarte tatin. The shallow shape of the dish produces a lovely browned crust while leaving the food beneath moist. For the best results, this dish allows you to caramelise the fruit on the hob first, before adding the pastry to the top and then baking it in the oven, all in one dish.
The dish fits easily under a grill or in the top of an oven when you are still cooking a meal and need space to keep finished dishes warm. Use it for making sweet and savoury quiches, pizza, pies, tarts, gratins, cakes and crumbles. It's also suitable for roasting and because it's made of cast iron with a smooth enamelled base, it can be put directly on top of the hob for sautéing or de-glazing sauces.
The exceptionally durable enamel finish is very easy to clean and resists chipping, staining and dulling over the life of the cookware.
Made in France and available in Le Creuset's original, timeless and iconic Volcanic colour, it looks beautiful and stylish when serving at the table and comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Le Creuset Cast Iron Care
- Read the appropriate instructions that will come with your item. Remove all packaging and labels
- Wash the pan in hot, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly
- Cooking on a medium or low heat gets the best results — even for frying and searing
- Let the product heat up gradually for great-tasting food that’s cooked evenly. If you need to use a higher heat, lower the setting once the desired heat has been reached
- Le Creuset Silicone tools or wooden/heat-resistant plastic tools are recommended
- For best results, use an appropriately sized ring for even cooking and to reduce the risk of damage to the product
- Sand enamel surfaces are not ideal for dry cooking. Recommended oils to use are vegetable, rapeseed and sunflower oil
- Never drag your product across a glass surface. Always lift to move to prevent damage
- Oven and grill safe up to 260°C. Allow a minimum distance of 6.5cm when grilling
- Always use oven gloves when handling hot products
- Allow product to cool before cleaning. If washed too quickly, thermal shock may occur, resulting in cracking or loss of enamel
- Handwash recommended
- Freezer compatible and dishwasher safe
