The Trevi Fountain is of an iconic symbol of Rome and the largest fountain in the Eternal City. Part of LEGO Architecture’s Landmark Series, this intricate model was designed by Rok Zgalin Kobe, who worked in collaboration with the LEGO design team. It incorporates features such as the façade of the Palazzo Poli, the statues of Ocean, Abundance and Health, plus translucent blue water-effect LEGO bricks. Size when complete: H14 x W20 x D14cm.
Designed by Nicola Salvi, the 'Fontana di Trevi' took 30 years to build. It was completed by his friend, the sculptor Pietro Bracci, in 1762, 11 years after Salvi's death. This stunning Baroque monument is carved from Travertine stone and has been the backdrop for many classic movies, including Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita. Today, over 250 years later, the 49 metre-wide fountain still draws thousands of visitors to the small Trevi square, all throwing coins over their shoulder – a promise they’ll be back.
