Based on examples from the early 1700s, the Boston beaker from Royal Selangor has just a few simple embellishments; a moulded base, incised lines and slightly flared lip contrast the plain body. Made from pewter it can be chilled in the freezer and then used to enjoy a sorbet or refreshing cocktail on a hot day.

It's part of Royal Selangor's Liberty collection which takes the simplicity of colonial American pewter and reinterprets it into more contemporary pieces.
Pewter is almost maintenance-free as it does not react with the air to oxidise or tarnish. It can attract dust and dirt, but all that's required is an occasional wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Over time pewter develops a pleasing and subdued patina unique to the metal which is part of the beauty of investing in this material.
