TVs in 2026 are smarter, brighter and better than ever. Our top-rated TVs are packed with amazing features to make films look more cinematic, gaming feel more responsive, and to bring superior picture quality for enhanced everyday viewing.
How do I choose a new TV?
Start by measuring your space to find out the ideal dimensions of your TV, and decide whether it will sit on a TV stand or be wall-mounted. Think about what you’re going to watch (TV series, films, sport or video games), how much competing light there is from lamps or windows, and what tech you want (perhaps voice control or AI) to make sure you don’t pay for features you won’t use. The good news is that there are fantastic options delivering top-class performance and value for every budget, but it’s worth investing in the best tech you can.
Best all-rounder TV
The Samsung Neo QLED 4K Ultra HD Smart AI TV delivers everything that most people want. It’s 55 inches, super sleek, and offers next-level picture and sound quality.
Best mid-range TV
Elevate everyday family viewing with a screen offering smart features, that’s big enough for comfortable viewing – even in bright rooms. All that and fantastic value.
Best TV for smaller spaces
A smaller screen size doesn’t mean compromising on picture or sound quality, as this TV – with extra features, such as hands-free voice commands – shows.
TV tech explained
Screen type
What is the difference between display technologies? LED (Light-Emitting Diode) is the most budget-friendly; QLED (Quantum Dot LED) provides more vibrant colour; OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) delivers cinematic viewing, and mini LEDs use thousands of LEDs. QLEDs excel in bright spaces, while OLEDs offer deep contrast in darker ones.
Picture resolution
This refers to the number of pixels (tiny dots of colour) that make up a display or image. More pixels means a sharper, more detailed picture, especially on larger screens or when viewed up close. A screen’s resolution is measured in Kilos (‘K’, such as 4K or 8K), which is determined by the horizontal pixel count.
Refresh rate
This is how many times per second the image on the screen updates. Measured in Hertz (Hz), higher numbers (such as 120Hz) provide smoother motion, reducing blur and choppiness, which is great for viewing fast-paced action in gaming or when watching sports – like the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
How to create a home cinema
Invest in home cinema gear and you’ll never look back. Once you’ve chosen your TV, the experience is instantly elevated by a sleek soundbar to bring clear, deep and balanced surround sound to your space.
