From smart storage solutions to new-home must-haves and buying gifts, I’m making the most of the Black Friday offers all month long
They say moving house is one the most stressful things you can do. From the paperwork to the packing, nothing about the process is particularly joyous. On that note, I find myself looking to relocate back to London at Christmas. Will exchange happen before Christmas Eve? Who knows! I’m focusing on what I can control: getting organised for the new house and buying all my Christmas presents early.
Storage essentials
Turns out, the hours spent immersed in the world of #CleanTok (a niche on TikTok dedicated to sharing cleaning hacks and tips) weren’t wasted, as I now come armed with pro-level skills to keep my new place organised and clutter-free.
The secret? Hiding things. Think big baskets, under-bed storage and stackable containers to keep even the smallest of kitchen cupboards in working order.
Christmas gifting
After years spent working in magazines compiling gift lists, the concept of buying Christmas presents early has been drilled into me. Shop for everything during Black Friday (you’ll know by now it’s not just a one-day thing, it’s the whole month of November), then spend December taking it easy, sipping mulled wine and feeling smug.
This year I’m stocking up on fluffy slippers and Apple air tags (one of which will be placed inside the removal van so I can track its every move).
Black Friday newness
Along with gifting, Black Friday ‘season’ is the ideal time to get in those big-ticket purchases. As someone who watches a lot (like, loads) of TV, the idea of creating a cinematic experience in the living room is my dream.
Along with a new smart TV, I’ve got my eye on a wireless Samsung soundbar to elevate the audio and make Selling Sunset sound like a Scorsese.
