What is the returns policy for international items?

If you’ve changed your mind about keeping your purchase, please return it in its original condition with proof of purchase and we’ll exchange or refund it.

Unless faulty, this should be within 35 days of receiving your order. By original condition, we’d expect this to mean that you’ve kept packaging and labels, and that the item is undamaged and unused. You’ll be expected to bear the cost of returning any unwanted items. 

If the item is faulty, damaged or not as described, please call us on +44 1698 545 454, 7 days a week, 7am to midnight (UK time). 

We’re unable to offer international customers refunds or exchanges, unless faulty, on perishable goods; swimwear or underwear that has been worn; used bedding; pierced earrings; products that have been personalised or specially ordered for you.

 

Please note that anything you've bought from our UK shops or from johnlewis.com cannot be returned to any of our international outlets. Please contact Customer Services directly to discuss your return.

How do I return items internationally?

COMPLETING AN INTERNATIONAL RETURN

There are two methods to return items to us; either via our International Returns portal or by post.

John Lewis & Partners International Returns portal

When returning products via our John Lewis & Partners International returns portal, you can arrange for your International returns to be collected or dropped off at nearby locations.

Country exclusions apply - see below for detail. To complete your return, please access the portal, select your country, enter your email address and original order number and you will be guided through the process.

If you change your mind about returning the item, please log back into the International Returns Portal and make the changes to your request. Alternatively contact our Customer Services who will assist you.

Postal or local delivery services

The John Lewis International returns portal is unable to support returns to the following countries:

Europe: Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Norway.

Rest of the world: Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Qatar, and the Philippines.

Therefore if you wish to return an order to any of these countries, please follow the below instructions:

  • Package your Item(s) up securely with the delivery note inside and mark the outside of your parcel with 'RETURNED GOODS' and send to Unit A, Unit 1 Saxon Avenue, Grange Park, Northampton, NN4 5EL.

Please make sure that whatever your reason for returning goods, you obtain proof of postage or delivery.

 

 

What charges are refundable and when will I receive a refund on an international return?

Our International Delivery page details delivery charges by country and cost of returns are detailed below.

  • If you've changed your mind about keeping your item, you'll need to pay for the return delivery or postage (if applicable), and we won't refund the original delivery charge. Please check the International Returns Portal here to see if you can access free or cheaper returns.
  • If you're exercising your EU right to cancel your order within 14 days, we'll refund you for the products and the original standard delivery charge (if applicable). 

Your payment method will be credited as soon as possible, and no later than 14 days of receipt or your returned item.

  • If your item is damaged, faulty or not as described, please call us on +44 1698 54 54 54.

You may cancel the order and receive a refund. We’ll refund the products, delivery and return costs (if applicable) within 30 days of receipt of your return.

Customs and Duties Refunds

We don't process fees or charges related to importing of goods, and therefore are unable to support refunds.

Items not collected will be returned to us, and your refund will be processed 14 days after receipt of the item. Please contact your local customs to request a refund on customs or duties paid.

What happens if I return a gift sent by international delivery?

We can give you a refund for the item as long as you're named on the order as the recipient. Otherwise, we'll need permission from the bill payer. Please contact our International Customer services on +44 1698 54 54 54, 7 days a week, 7am to midnight (UK time) and we can discuss your options.

  • If you have changed your mind about keeping the item, you'll need to pay for the return postage, and we won't refund the original delivery charge. 
  • If you're exercising your EU right to cancel your order within 14 days, we'll refund you for the products and the original standard delivery charge. If your item is damaged, faulty or not as described, please call us on +44 1698 54 54 54
  • Keep your proof of return until you receive confirmation you have been refunded. You will receive a refund within 28 days to the payment method that you have used to place your order.
  • We’re unable to offer international customers refunds or exchanges, unless faulty, on perishable goods; swimwear or underwear that has been worn; used bedding; pierced earrings; products that have been personalised or specially ordered for you.
