Handcrafted and designed in the UK exclusively for John Lewis by Millbrook Beds, the Lyndhurst is a luxurious hand-built mattress offering a medium level of comfort. It delivers a deeply considered balance of support, breathability and craftsmanship. At its heart is natural horsehair, the most resilient and breathable filling in traditional bed-making, layered by hand with silk, cashgora and wool.

Signature horsehair
Pure horsehair is the Lyndhurst's defining filling. Springy, naturally ventilating and prized by master bed-makers for centuries, it delivers a uniquely buoyant, breathable feel that no synthetic can replicate, and it lasts.

Natural fillings
Layer upon layer of Hampshire wool, British wool, silk and cashgora are tufted in by hand for natural temperature regulation, breathability and a soft, indulgent surface, the kind of depth you can only be achieved by hand.

Ergonomic 7 pocket springs and Comfonomic micro springs
A 1,000-spring, seven-zone Ergonomic pocket core delivers precise support, while 4,000 Comfonomic micro springs above it (5,000 springs in total) create a deep, adaptive surface that cradles the body and responds to every movement.

Hand-tufted finish
The deep hand-tufting is finished with a tailored, single-row silver Millbrook border, complete with handles for easy positioning This is a mattress made the traditional way, by people, not machines.

Make the most of your new mattress

• Leave your new mattress to air in a well-ventilated room for a few hours to diffuse any natural scents from its fillings.
• Use a breathable mattress protector and air your mattress regularly.
• This mattress complements a sprung bed base to enhance its luxury feel, but if you have a slatted base, ensure the gaps are no more than 7.5cn apart.
• Follow the care instructions supplied.
