What's an induction hob?
Think of an induction hob as a more modern, efficient version of an electric hob. Cleverly generating heat using strong electrical currents beneath the surface, the top only generates heat when pans come into direct contact of the specific cooking zone. You'll benefit from lower energy bills, more control over temperature when cooking, a safer kitchen and quicker clean-up afterwards.
Heat range & automatic pan detection
You've got complete control over the hob. Choose from a range of 9 temperatures to suit whatever on the menu tonight. The hob automatically adjusts according to pan dimension, so don't worry about having to wash up pans on the fly.
Easy maintenance and usability
Keeping your hob clean and clear after cooking is quick and easy thanks to the smooth glass surface material, which allows you to wipe away any mess with ease.
Simple heat control
Adjusting your heat settings is easy with the front-facing controls, simply select what heat level you want on the dials and the hob will automatically adjust this for you. As you won't have to place your hands over the burners or your cookware, you can avoid spillages and harmful accidents.
Safety First
If you've got little ones running around the kitchen (or you're just a bit clumsy yourself), don't worry about any happy accidents. Smeg have fitted the hob with a control lock and residual heat indicator to make sure you never accidentally put hands or objects on warm surfaces.
