Next day pre 10:30am delivery

Need it before 10.30am? If Next day morning delivery is available for your order, it will be offered to you at checkout at a cost of £9.95.

Order by 8pm the previous day for delivery 7.30 - 10.30am, Monday to Friday only.

Excludes large items delivered by 2 people.

Daily Next or Named day delivery

If Next or Named working day delivery is available for your order, it will be offered to you at checkout at a cost of £6.95.

Order by 8pm the previous day for Next day delivery.

Available for delivery 7 days a week, 7.30am - 6pm - some couriers may deliver a little outside these hours.

Excludes large items delivered by 2 people.

Convenient delivery slots

We’ll always offer a free 7-hour delivery slot for large items, but you can buy a shorter slot if you need it:

  • 2-hour delivery slot - £24.95
  • 4-hour delivery slot - £12.95

Your earliest available date and time slot will be offered to you at checkout.

This service excludes small and medium-sized items. See Next day delivery information for smaller items.

What to expect on delivery day

How will you ensure my high-value item is delivered safely?

High-value items will need to be signed for. We’ll send you an email explaining how to track your item, and letting you know when it will be delivered.

If no-one is at home, the courier will attempt to leave smaller parcels with a neighbour. The courier will post a card through your door with further delivery instructions if they're unable to complete delivery, or if they leave the parcel with a neighbour.

The courier will attempt to make delivery and obtain a signature twice. After this, if the item is small and light the courier will leave it with a local pick-up shop, and notify you of the location. If heavy or large, we’ll hold the item for 5 working days while we wait to hear from you, before returning it to our warehouse.

Will you install my item delivered by next day delivery?

Sorry, we’re unable to provide installation/ setup services with Next day delivery.

Can you notify me when you’re on your way?

For large items being delivered by our John Lewis team, our delivery team will call you at any time up to 30 minutes before arrival on your delivery day. We’re unable to offer a narrower time slot on the day.

For smaller items being delivered by our courier, the courier company will send you an email and a text message with a one-hour delivery window (as long as you provided a valid phone number and email address when you placed the order).

Will your delivery team bring my item into the house?

When delivering large items, our delivery team will put your item in the room of your choice.

Will your delivery team take the packaging away for me?

If your item is being delivered by a John Lewis delivery team, they’ll gladly remove packaging at your request.

Access for my delivery

I’m worried the item may not fit through my door.

If the item is listed as fully assembled on the product page, before you place your order check the item’s measurements (also on the product page) against those of your door. You might also find our Measuring up for furniture guide helpful.

You may need to arrange for your door to be removed to enable delivery for very large items, as neither we nor our approved suppliers are able to offer this service.

Some large items may be easier as they’re flat-packed for self assembly. This is shown on the product page.

If you’re unsure the item you’ve ordered will fit through the door, please call us to discuss your concerns on 0345 604 9049, with your dimensions to hand.

I live up several flights of stairs. Do I need to tell you?

This shouldn’t be an issue, but if you suspect our delivery team may struggle to deliver to your address, call us to discuss any concerns on 0345 604 9049 as soon as possible after placing your order.

Help with my delivery

I need support with my delivery as there’s been a mistake with my order, or it hasn’t yet been delivered.

If your delivery is overdue, or any mix-up has occurred, or your items have been accidentally damaged in transit, call our Customer services team for assistance on 0345 604 9049, 7am - midnight, 7 days a week.

Why are services not available to purchase for my item?

Please note that installation and assembly services are not available with Next day delivery, so this option won’t be offered to you at checkout. Please opt for Named day delivery if you require these services.

If you’d still like to proceed with Next day delivery for your item, please return to your basket and remove any installation services you previously selected.

Deliveries of multiple items

I’ve ordered several items at once. Will they all arrive together?

Your products may arrive separately or from different couriers, but don’t worry; you won’t be charged for additional deliveries.

Please wait until your expected delivery time has passed before contacting us.

Are there any places where the service isn't available?

Do you deliver to BFPO addresses?

Sorry, we can't currently deliver website orders to BFPO addresses, but our Export department at John Lewis Oxford Street may be able to help.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Man?

We deliver to most postal areas in the UK including Northern Ireland. However, geographical location and courier availability can restrict our service. We may not always be able to deliver certain products to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Man.

We now deliver a range of products to a number of countries outside the UK, including the Republic of Ireland - see the section on International delivery.

Please note that we reserve the right not to deliver an order if we believe the address isn’t secure, for example to a communal postal address or PO box. If this affects an order you place, we'll notify you as soon as possible.

Larger item delivery timescales to remote areas

There are a small number of postcodes, usually in remote rural areas, where we cannot guarantee delivery within our usual timescale and cannot offer Next day delivery. Items will sometimes take more than the scheduled 7 days to deliver, due to limited courier availability in these areas.
