Its 8,000 spring system is mirrored on both sides for enduring support and longevity, while generous layers of natural fillings enriched with pure silk lend a more elevated, refined feel.
Natural fillings
Featuring a rich blend of natural fillings, the Christchurch 8000 combines Hampshire wool, British wool blended with pure silk, layered cotton and a luxurious mix of British wool, silk and cashgora. Together they create a sleep surface that is breathable, naturally temperature-regulating and exceptionally soft to the touch.
Double-sided comfort
Unlike single-sided mattresses, the Christchurch is layered identically on both sides, allowing you to turn throughout the year to even out wear and prolong its life. It’s a construction long valued by those who appreciate traditional mattress-making, and one that has become increasingly rare to find.
Comfonomic micro springs
Two generous 4,000-spring micro layers, one each side of the core, create a beautifully adaptive, contouring surface whichever way the mattress is turned, responding instantly to every movement.
Ergonomic 7 pocket springs
At its core, 1,000 individually nested pocket springs are arranged across seven targeted support zones, delivering tailored comfort to key areas of the body. Responding independently to movement and pressure, they provide precise support where it’s needed most while helping to minimise partner disturbance for a more restful night’s sleep
Hand-tufted finish
Both sleep surfaces are deeply hand-tufted and finished with a Union Jack badge, creating a sumptuous, hard-wearing finish on either side.
Make the most of your new mattress
- Leave your new mattress to air in a well-ventilated room for a few hours to diffuse any natural scents from its fillings.
- Use a breathable mattress protector and air your mattress regularly.
- This mattress complements a sprung bed base to enhance its luxury feel, but if you have a slatted base, ensure the gaps are no more than 7.5cn apart.
