Q & As

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great if for normal everyday use I really liked this camera, takes amazing quality pictures and even videos. However my only problem is that when recording videos, it heats up and has to be shut down. I'm a blogger and vlogger so because of the size and compactness, this was amazing but for filming it has problems with filming periods longer than 15 mins and there is a slight hiss (there is no audio jack also). So I would recommend for normal use only. If you can put up with waiting for cool downs, then this would be a good start up camera. But do research on it first depending on what you will use this for primarily. 25 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing camera and great price I did quite a bit of research into compact system cameras and I kept coming back to this one. The quality is amazing, the battery life is great and the wifi is really easy and quick to use. 12 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant affordable compact camera Such a brilliant camera my only complaint would be if it had a wider angle lense! Perfect for all occasions day and night, and looks great too 07 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by great little camera Does a great job and perfect to carry around to capture those special moments. Highly recommend! 17 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product Since purchasing the Sony A5000 I have been really impressed. Relatively simple to use. Lots of functionality and decent lens plus plenty of scope to take more sophisticated pictures if required. 29 September 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleased with this purchase We did quite a bit of research when looking to buy a new camera. Initially we had purchased a Panasonic but returned it immediately due to poor image quality which was disappointing. We opted for the Sony A5000 instead and have been pleased so far. The image quality is good, it's simple and intuitive to use and importantly, the time from pressing the button to capturing a shot is very short. We have a young son and it's great to be able to capture those special moments rather than getting the shot in a second too late! We haven't had much opportunity to photograph in low light or adverse weather hence four stars instead of five. 27 July 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by a great little camera I was after a camera which gave good results, particularly in low light. With it's large sensor this fits the bill perfectly - So for image quality I would give 5 stars, but have dropped it to 4 because although the screen is adequate (and the tilt helps), it is not as quite as it could be. 28 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent camera The photo quality is excellent and the camera is extremely easy to use (especially for me as I consider myself to be a bit of a novice) 10 March 2015
