Q & As

Stoves Richmond 550E Electric Mini Range Cooker, Champagne 4 5 5 5
Poor service and faulty cooker I really like my cooker but it wasn't working when I unpacked it and installed it; the springs attaching the hood to the cooker had been bent and put on the wrong way round. As a result the hob didn't work. I found myself in the ridiculous position of having to contact Stoves to arrange for an engineer to come out to repair a brand new cooker! Stoves were completely unapologetic and I had to wait a week for the engineer to come out. John Lewis were sympathetic but ultimately useless in helping to speed up the process. Buyer beware! 26 October 2014
Excellent purchase Very solid and well built cooker. Doors have a satisfying weight to them too. Hob heats very quickly and efficiently and its wonderful to have a top oven that is actually an oven and not a glorified warming cupboard! Very, very pleased with the purchase. 02 March 2014
The best I have ever used....& I've been a professional chef for 38 years! I wanted an electric, free standing cooker for my new kitchen at home. As a professional chef, I have used gas & electric solid tops, gas rings & ceramic. Ceramic is, in my opinion, second to none. It's clean & controllable. I saw this on the John Lewis website at a competitive price. What attracted me most of all is that this cooker is British made! Using this appliance exceeded all expectations. It is A rated. The rings heat pans faster than gas then when you want a simmer, turn it down to "1" (8 settings). You can actually see it regulating! The fan oven is very efficient & I now use it at 20 degrees lower than my previous cooker. The cast iron lid, attractive looks & sturdy build are all a bonus. Highly recommended. 21 July 2013
Compact size, nice styling As with the other reviewer this is a nice cooker, but I do have a few niggles. 1. The cooker hood is BLACK not champagne as shown in the photo. 2. The main oven is 'front venting' which means stem escapes from the grill area. I personally don't like this but have been assured by the Stoves that this is quite normal. Still haven't got used to it so please consider this when purchasing. 3. Price has been reduced by £100 too. I only received this on 20th December 2012 so feeling a little disappointed. 05 January 2013
Perfect for retro kitchen Very pleased with quality and appearance of this Stoves cooker but disappointed that it comes with a black top NOT a cream top as shown in the picture. Still nice though. 31 December 2012
