KitchenAid Artisan 4L Food Processor
I only wish I had bought it from John Lewis
I didn't buy my Kitchen Aid food processor from John Lewis but saw this forum and thought I would add to it. The connection between the bowl and the lid is poor and easily breaks. This has happened twice to mine and I now have a machine with a handle that has allowed washing up water into it and looks most unhygienic. It has also broken at the top of the work bowl cover where the food pusher goes into it, so I have had to replace this as well. I'm pretty sure the motor would last forever, but the rest of it does not merit the price you pay for it. I am very careful when I wash up my processor, it has never been in the dishwasher and has only been cleaned by hand and dried carefully. I would not recommend this product.

broken and zero customer service from Kitchenaid
I purchased this product in October 2013 and used the processor a few times and thought it was brilliant. After very little use, I then needed to hold the lid and bowl as it would shake on its stand and the safety mechanism would cut in to stop it working. Finally the blade sheared off (only mixing a sponge!). I have waited months for Kitchenaid to replace the faulty parts and in frustration have contacted John Lewis to try to resolve problem as every time I call Kitchenaid Customer services, there is an answerphone and I can't speak to anyone directly, so am hoping John Lewis will have more luck.

Bought this the UK as it was much cheaper in GPB than Euro. The click and collect service was faultless, now having got it home to the continent, it works like a dream, not overly noisey. The safety features are great it basically won't work if bowls, lids, blades etc are not lined up, the only tricky part is opening the dicer, which incidentally does not like dicing aubergine, I had to use two microfiber cloths to hold it with and twist in opposite directions - if that makes sense and really put some elbow into it. I have a repetitive strain, which is why I need this, and this May cause me problems in the future, let's wait and see. All the bowl, blades and accessories are of high quality and feel so sturdy when handling, the spray tap in my kitchen makes sluicing and rising easy. Would reccomend without hesitation. There is little to no food waste either, They say cheap is expensive, having had an alternative German brand, I wish I had just got this one in the first place.

Excellent...typical kitchen aid really
So, I took a punt!On the internet and even JL, I couldn't find a good gross section of reviews on this machine. Only 9 on JL and product testers on the net.
So with the owner knowledge of having another kitchen aid device, the gloriously beautiful and effortlessly useable Mixer, I decided to buy this. Now I researched for a long time. I looked into the whole food processor range from 2.1 to this monster. And here's what made me buy this model. It does everything the 2.1& 3.1L can do plus it's the only processor on the market which can dice. Now the 3.1L with its adjustable slicing (via external leaver) would've been sufficient enough for my uses. I'm a young mum with only a hubby and two toddlers to feed,so size wise it's more then adequate. But I'd always have the niggly thought that "it cant dice and for £130 more I could've had one that could". I'm the kind of person whilst not wealthy (but comfortable) will happily spend money on quality and durability.
On to the product... Stunning for that alone I give it 5 stars! Products such as this tend to be great big boxy things you want to hide in the cupboard meaning you'll rarely use it! But this much like the mixer is aesthetically pleasing and deserves a nice clean work top space where it can be shown of in all it's glory.
Does it do the business.... Quite frankly... He'll yes! It's robust and sturdy. For this type of kitchen gadget that essential. Now this comes with a 3 year warranty direct from kitchen aid and 20years for the motor. That sold it!
This machine slices and dices and shreds to perfection. Now whilst the bowl is large don't abuse it then complain "it's flimsy". After spending 350 treat it well and it will serve you well.
Firstly READ the instructions!!! Love your machine and respect your hard earned cash by reading the instructions. I've known people to miss this step and scratch the bowl!!! Then complain it's badly made.
I've had the top end ken wood and magimix and have found both to be rubbish

Lid broken yet again
Bought this 30 June last year. After a few weeks it stopped working. Kitchenaid seems to know there is a problem with the lids as I was told to shake it to see if it rattled, yes it did. I was sent a new bowl and cover but it took weeks! Tried to use it today, same problem, Great no food processor over a bank holiday.

Great product for large families
Fantastic product if you're hosting dinner parties or have a large family- it's very efficient and (relatively) easy to use. The amount it takes to clean all of the pieces though means it's not worth it if you're just cooking for two! Other than that, a good buy.

Very Good Product
Very quick to make things , but does take a while to wash and dry all the bowls and tubes. But would recomend and mention about the cleaning of this product. Pleased so far.

I love it
Had mine bought as a Christmas present and love it. Don't have any problems with it and I am right handed. I find it very easy to use and clean and use it most days. I had a magimix before and loved that too but this looks so much nicer I leave it on the worktop so always ready for use.
