Inspired by a hand-painted canvas created by the RSN to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, The Nation's Garden has been thoughtfully reimagined by the RSN Studio as a richly detailed embroidery kit that combines heritage with contemporary stitching techniques.
The design features the rose, daffodil and thistle, representing the nations of the United Kingdom, and is enriched with delicate insect motifs inspired by the Coronation Robe of King Charles III. Together, these historic symbols create a design that celebrates the enduring tradition of British embroidery.
Rather than being worked entirely in Tent Stitch, as a traditional painted canvas would be, this project combines counted patterns with surface embroidery stitches to create greater texture, depth and visual interest. The result is an engaging and rewarding project for stitchers looking to explore a variety of techniques.
