Panasonic MC-UG302WP47 Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Being a Dyson user for the last 10 years their new prices were so ridiculous I decided to buy a much cheaper one. My parents have had this vacuum for the last few years and swear by it (yes, by it, not at it!).
It is easy to assemble, simple to use and most importantly very light to manoeuvre and carry up and down stairs.
Can't fault it for the money what a bargain!

Much better than our previous, more expensive, vacuum cleaner. It is very basic, but simple to use and has a good powerful suction. Tools are rather clumsy to use but still very pleased with our purchase.

15 years of loyal service and my Panasonic vacuum has just started to show its age. The hose is perishing and the bottom section is wobbling.
After two years in the UK, 13+ in the Middle East and now with me in Hong Kong it has picked up all sorts of dirt and been used by a number of different cleaners.
Clearly, it thinks like I do, that Hong Kong is one step too far!
Sadly, this model is not available in Hong Kong so I am going to have to grit my teeth and buy another brand. But I'd really rather not.

Pick up good, as far as I have used it, looks good, but if this is lightweight I hate to think what a heavier machine weighs..Thinking of returning it!!!

I read the other reviews on this hoover with interest because I've had the hoover for 3 years and don't agree with everything that's been said probably because my hoover is getting a bit worn now. It was quite good when I first purchased it, not bad suction and picked up ok. Over time it's become less effective. It's never been very good at picking up certain types of fluff off the carpet, particularly fluff which comes off of socks! For the price it's not a bad hoover but not a great one either.

Good for the price.
We have just taken delivery of this cleaner. We intend to use it upstairs and after a quick evaluation we would say that it will do the job. There was one query which we had which did take a bit of time to solve so maybe this information may save you the trouble. There are two small holes in the Crevice Nozzle. Are they meant to be there? Yes they are. In simple terms it is to stop the motor over heating. They do not appear to lesson performance. I agree with other comments such as the main cord and extension hose is short. Quite a 'draft' comes out of the air filter. Our down stairs cleaner is a Sebo which I would say is a Rolls Royce and this one is a mini. However you get what you pay for.

tried and trusted
My previous version of this model gave nearly 13 years trouble free service and I passed it on to someone happy to buy new brushes, filters etc. No hesitation about treating myself to another brand new Panasonic upright ( with larger motor). It's certainly value for money but I think they should stop calling it "lightweight"! Or is it just me getting creakier !?
