- Once the bolts are securely in place, gently lower the headboard onto the securing bolts.Adjust the height to your preferred position and ensure it’s level before tightening fully.Spacer blocks are included for padded headboards or if you’re fitting to an ottoman base.Note: A strutted headboard should sit neatly on top of the mattress before the bolts are tightened.
